I have been watching more Masao Ohba recently.....and just wondered how great was he in the history of Boxing......:think I mean, is easy you see Evander Holyfield or HWs like Sonny Liston being considered ATGs.....and they are borderline Top 10 in their division....Division that I don“t consider better than the FlyWs.....HW and FlyW actually are very similar in talent through the history of boxing..... So with that in mind......can you see Ohba as one of the ATGs in Boxing ? He is a top 10 in the division in my opinion and I believe many people would agree with this...... How great was Ohba ? Definitely an ATG ? What legacy he left for the world of Classic Boxing ? This content is protected
No. Perhaps if he had a full career he would have been. But imo even his best win, against Betulio Gonzalez, could have gone either way. He did not get close to proving greatness imo, even though he looked a really good fighter with the potential to be...
No and neither are Holyfield and Liston. The number of 'greats' needs to be restricted to give the term impact.
He is not. He was an excellent fighter, but never quite got to the level of Robinson, Armstrong, Greb et al.
