Matthysse gets alot of hype, and i agree he is looking very good recently.

But are people forgetting that he lost to Zab Judah and Devon Alexander.

I know that those fights were very close, but still. A fighter with the hype that Lucas Matthysse gets should walk through Zab Judah, and comfortably beat Alexander.

Do people just think he's improved dramatically since then.

Now i rate Peterson over both Judah and Alexander, so is Matthyse getting his 3rd loss next weekend?
And how come Matthysse is the favourite in this one?

PEDerson will be roided to the gills and unless Matthysse puts him in a coma, Haymon will make sure Lamont comes out with the W. Put money on it.

Matthysse will knock him out and get a draw.

I like Matthysse but I do agree with those that say he is being overhyped. Peterson is another contentious fighter. It's not clear what his current medical condition is, but whatever the case, he is looking a real force at the moment. You can only go by what he's being allowed to do in the ring and so I have to say he's a well enough rounded fighter to beat Matthysse. I don't like the way the term "exposed" is sometimes thrown around, but yes you can expect a lot of people considering Matthysse to be "exposed". Even though he'd have been "exposed" by a very good fighter who for all we know is still on enhancements.

aren't they doing proper testing for this?

So you think Matthysse dominates Peterson? Come on Man! Bradley couldn't dominate him so i doubt matthyse does.

No, I don't think he will dominate him at all. I see it being a close fight, but like I said there is NO WAY Matthysse will get the nod against Peterson if it goes to the cards.

Patterson is a pressure fighter and against a puncher like Mathysse it could be his downfall, remember that Lamont has been dropped by lesser punchers like Khan and Bradley, to me this comes down to can Petterson take Mathysse's best punches? if he can he has a big chance of winning. This will be a very interesting fight and will answer some questions we have about both of them. Cant wait.

Matthysse will lose. Peterson is a damn good boxer. He's the most well-rounded fighter in this tourney.

I think I favor Petersen here even though Mattyssee seems like a terminator right now

I think he has been riding real high off the back of a great punch but sub par victory over Dallas Jr

Petersen vs Khan and Holt showed a progression of defensive and pressure skills some good inside work and power

He might just be the guy to burst Mattyssess's bubble

are we forgettin that he litterally wooped on devon and floored him twice. n devon got a lucky hometown decision and it was a 10rd fight another 2rds lucas woulda landed another big one. an devon is extremely under rated i believe he is really damn good and improved so much after timmy.

lamont can beat lucas, but im pickin lucas .... its gunna be a good one. styles make fight so u cant even talk bout judah and alexander. we dont kno wut lamont gunna do , he can take the judah/alexander gameplan which was similiar . i kno in the khan fight he was comin forward alot also vs cayo and holt he was walkin them down. i dont think hes gunna make lucas take a step back, but we gotta see how many tools lucas has. can he box?? we dont really kno he never showed but he does come forward with intelligent pressure. not like brandon rios ... and lucas power is tremendous which is a huge gamechanger.
