His knowledge is second to none, in interviews his opinion is pretty unbiased, he doesn't mind asking the hard questions, he has a sense of humor. I understand he's pretty green compared to some others, but Max seems to be by far the best currently speaking on the sport and possibly the fairest I've ever heard.
I"m glad Max called Mitchell out on the crying, the emotion. That Mitchell broke down like that tells us a lot about his vulnerability. The guy was almost KO'd in one round, cannot block a punch, and cannot take a heavy shot to the jaw. Mitchell knows all these things about himself...which is why he cried with relief when it was over. Mitchell is not going to be at the top for long. No way. No possible way.
I'm not going to give Mitchell too much **** for that. He explained it pretty honestly. That was his first bout with adversity and he knew it could have ended his career.
no, he is not the GOAT. In fact most of the HBO announcers are not so good at announcing, that is: describing, adding atmosphere, enhancing your viewing experience.
I like Max a lot always have, but I have to agree with Tito44 Tarver is the best in the game right now.
Max is not the GOAT yet. But he's very good in my view.. You really can't compare the two, Tarver is the expert analyst, while Max is there for his knowledge about the history, and to ask Emmanual question that he thinks the fans would want to know. Also, Tarver doesn't have to interview the fighters, and Max does that well. He ask the questions the fans want to know. He also has called out bad refs and judges several times. If he keeps it up, he will be around along time..
don't forget this is the same guy that cut off the confrontation between mosley at Mayweather in ring post mayweather fight prior to that fight being made. alot of people were pissed Max stepped in and told them to cut it out
