May 5th is a high demand date. If Mayweather left the date open and negotiated without the date locked up, then Arum would have been able to steal that date and fight Marquez on it.

On the flip side of what your saying, the May 5th date could have been used to entice Pac/Arum.

they already agreed to MGM twice before, if anything the fight has gotten smaller since then. pac was gonna fight in may anyways and this was stated several times. this is an obvioud attempt to make things easier having a perfect date and venue ready and set to go.

 

But he is showing right NOW 5 months from May 5th with both fighter free with no fight scheduled that he wants the fight and is trying to make it.

I can easily ask - What's wrong with May 5th? Team Pac had plenty of time to prepare for it. It's not like Floyd dropped the date on their lap last minute. On top of that the party that lobbies for an earlier date gets the benefit of the doubt simply because the fight needs to happen as soon as possible. At this point nobody should be picky - just sign the contracts and fight! Seems like both parties will probably never agree across the board. This is why we desperately need a commanding third party to make decisions for them.

Let democracy decide. FMJ-Pac is a brainchild of the fans anyway. So they should decide when and where the fight should take place (within reason). Put up a voting system. Majority votes should settle it. There are simple solutions to the problem but because we're dealing with egomaniacs, there's little or no hope.

 

Who Thinks Jrs Sentence was already set before the Trial? Who thinks his Lawyers told him to book a venue before the trial so he could apply postpone the sentence ? Who thinks he will be released within hours of going into jail ?It Will be just like the other celebrity bitches that have been sentenced in US courts over the last couple of years. Why didn't someone from Jrs camp go to Pacquaio's people and tell them we are looking to stall the sentence if they were really keen to make the fight. This **** goes on and on. Real boxing fans will remember that Jr always avoided people when they were in white hot form!
