Same size and prime for prime, I would take Jones to win. Has the speed, power, combinations and reflexes to get the job done.

floyd is technically better, but Roy has his own definition of technical.

Lol, I cant believe this poll is even close.

Apparently Floyd is vastly inferior to Sugar Ray Robinson, but he's even with Roy Jones Jr who at 160 would have knocked SRR out his boots.

Mayweather is clearly the better technician whereas Roy is the better natural talent. I don't think you can go wrong really.

Defense and technique were irrelevant for prime RJJ, so saying that Mayweather has that advantage is moot. It's apples and oranges, RJJ had his own type of technique and defense that was just as effective against better opposition.

Roy had superior hand speed, foot speed, power. Their vision and reflexes were similar. In terms of attributes, a prime RJJ beats Floyd in most areas. Jones was nearly untouchable (until he got touched).

    Don't know about those.

Mayweather's best weapons are accuracy, timing and ring generalship - adaptation during a fight, figuring out his opponent and steadily negate everything he brings to the table.

With RJ's style he had to have nearly picture perfect Accuracy and timing. Rj relied on his footspeed far more than Floyd did.

Mayweather has excellent timing though and accuracy. Both fighters didn't waste many punches. But RJ's footspeed was superior.

Mayweather's shut out against Sugar is arguably a better performace than Jones's domination of Toney.

Mayweather getting hurt in the second puts the brakes on that one I would say.

    Edit: 38,000 posts... damn.

Oh, I don't know. I would say Ali's performance against Foreman was better than Jones's performance against Toney, and he got the crack kicked out of him.

Still no, Mayweather isnt half as athletically talented, hes better technically

  14. Jones never really had a solid defensive foundation. It was all reflexes. When those started to fade, well, you saw what happened.
