Sorry but it sure is far from greatest, its good, but not great. Great is when you dream to see fighters face each other before they sign to fight and then you add all the hype to make it even bigger.
Just remember what fans said before Mayweather was searching for his oponent. Mosley, Cotto, Taylor :)hey ) hatton was nowehre near these guys. This fight is huge HYPE, with good chances of become a good scrap.

It is one of the greatest hyped fights of all time.

Let's see if it lives up to the hype.

All I can say is that over here in Britain it's as big as Lewis Tyson was

could be. Hype part of it is already there. But i would classify "best fights ever" as like a ali-frazier, or ali-foreman. I dont think any of floyds fights could be on that level until we see him in a true battle with someone he truely hates and they are just battling. But other than that no. He is just too good with little competition. Only good fight for him now is cotto, That should take place by end of next year.

Not yet, but all the pre-fight ingredients are there and if it exceeds the hype and it's an awesome fight it will be. Most of these fights when viewed after the fact is what makes them great. Take Leonard-Duran #1. If that fight had the quality of Leonard -Duran #3 it would be all but forgotten

Not Floyd/Oscar, it's a great example of a letdown to great promotion. Never thought much of Tyson/Lewis even before the fight.

One fight I would have had on the list would be Pryor/Arguello #1. Awesome.

Historically I don't rate this coming fight on par w/ those listed....but from a fan perspective I am as excited about this fight more than I have been in a while...I don't excpect it to be a great fight, but it pits two undefeated boxers, who are legitimate in their claims to greatness. So from that standpoint it is a BIG deal....better yet will be:

    undefeated II Cotto vs Hatton

    before the fight - no

fight has no signifigance really besides the fact that both fighters are undefeated ...nobody in america really cares about ricky hatton

    after the fight- possibly

if the fight is a slug fest and hatton atleast gets on ko & pulls it off then it would be important in the history of boxing .. but if floyd wins in any manner... it doesnt really matter

    in my opinion atleast

You don't think Floyd has had any excellent fights? You must not have followed his career at all. Tune in after he took out De La Hoya? Heh....

It is not a legendary fight, nor a great fight. I see no way that Hatton can win, so not to me. But if Hatton wins, it will be a legendary upset, as far as I am concerned, because I give him no chance in hell.
