Let me guess... Because JMM called out FMJ hence the fight is to be held under the latter's terms. Nothing to do with size... just who called who.
The answer is simple. Number 1, the question isn't whether they are the same size, but whether or not one is too big for the other. Number 2, Mayweather didn't move up from 135 and 140 because he couldn't make the weight anymore, he moved up because he wanted bigger fights. It's conceivable that Mayweather could still be fighting at 135 and definately 140 had he chose not to move up. Hopkins can't make 160 anymore, but no one was saying he was too big for Pavlik. In the end, I believe Floyd is too big for Marquez. Not because of the difference in stature though, but because he's used to fighting guys much bigger than Marquez and Marquez is used to fighting much smaller men.
height, reach and build, all of them floyd is bigger. floyd would just be weighing his usual weight and would be hydrating normally while marquez would be bulking-up just to add some additional weight. good points on the others though. the most important thing is being settled on the weight and not much on the walk-around weight. floyd is well setled at 147 which he have fought several times while jmm is not yet settled on weights higher than 135 which he had fought zero times.
Interesting points made but the main problem with people accepting this as a fair fight is the fact that the self proclaimed best fighter in our sport and of all time according to him is fighting a guy who campaigns at lightweight whilst Floyd has been campaigning at welterweight for the past 4 years or more and basically it boils down to this: Why does a man with so much skill and so much to offer talent wise take a fight against a lightweight when there is far more stiffer challenges out there for him ? And the answer is greed and money. I just hope it backfires on him in the same way it backfired on Oscar De La Hoya. Oscar tried to cherry pick and got his ass handed back to him on a silver platter !!!:deal
Greed and money are definately a part of it. Coming off that layoff, it wouldn't be wise to get right back in there with a guy like Mosley. A tuneup was definately advisable. However, the need for a big payday is the reason Marquez was choosen. It's a tuneup that they're trying to pass off as a big fight. Mayweather won't lose though unless he gets hurt.
Another important thing to point out is that Mayweather has NEVER fought anyone as good as Marquez. And if size, truly isn't that big of an issue, then this may be trouble for Floyd.
Nope hes not. Mayweather is a small WW, if anything hes really a JW. Watch, Mayweather will come in at 143 at the weight in
I don't understand where you're coming from. You're responding to a post where I said that Mayweather's greed is the reason the fight was made and that he's trying to dupe the public into believing this is a legit matchup. Despite this, you respond by intimating that I am bias towards Floyd and never hold him accountable. Are you purposely trying to be stupid?
They are an inch apart in height. Floyd has a much longer reach, but Marquez has the same reach as Cotto. What are their respective chest, wrist, neck, calf, and thigh measurements?
They are about the same size, almost. But, Floyd is slightly bigger. Still, the bigger question is whether the extra weight will affect Marquez.
Dont say that because Floyd is undefeated and Bigreg will start argueing that Floyd has the Biggest dick below Middleweight. :deal
