If the guy just said "I'm off for a holiday, I'll fight Pac next year" Lot's of bull**** threads end as a result and we can just focus on what fight are actually happening.
I think overall Floyd is hurting boxing. Floyd has massive PPV buys in some of his fights but most of those who watched it felt robbed and fooled by the hype which can possibly turn off a fan of the sport. Most of Floyd's fight doesn't live up to their expectations of Floyd. He usually under performed and usually cruised to boring UD wins. Floyd is a great boxer but his performance inside the ring were somewhat flat, lacking excitement and entertainment values.
Floyd isn't important enough to "ruin boxing." You'd have to be the imbecilic child of moronic parents to believe that he is.
Right on. Floyd not fighting Pacman is ruining boxing in America and giving the UFC guys a "one up" on us boxing fans. But I say **** it all. I love boxing for what it is. I rather watch two guys who perfected their craft than 2 guys throwing bar punches any day. There too many elements in MMA to master all of the game.
No he is not. Boxing is, was and always will be bigger than one man. I have a bigger problem with Pacquiao doing everything but back flips to avoid fighting Mayweather than pretending to be interested with his "deadline".
May fans on damage control: 6 months ago "dont you understand? these tests are good for the sport!" 2 months ago: "If Manny would just agree to the tests we wouldve had a fight" 2 weeks ago: "they never negotiated, Arum is a liar! and floyd said he's on vacation, leave him alone!" After Team Mayweather is proven to be liars and floyd is "vacationing": Present: "who cares, the fight is off, dont you get it?" Pac should not be fighting Margarito!!! :huh
Floyd does seem to be the one messing about regarding this fight.I dont think he is scared of Manny,it just comes across that he has a total disregard for the fans.He is a great fighter but acts like a total ***** too often. Its not ruining boxing though, its annoying but nothing more.If Floyd wants to go into another retirement there are good fights out there for Manny and Floyd will be missing out on a lot of money.
I can't see how he's helped it much since coming back. Apart from the Mosley fight, which the mainstream media mostly **** on anyway, everything else he's done has been bad for the sport. He's given boxing alot of attention in the media, and usually boxing can use any publicity good or bad, but with how he's done it it's only hurt the sport. The JMM fight was a farce and made a mockery of the sport, showing how much he really valued fair play - and put his later claims on how he is a crusader for leveling the playing field in it's proper light. That came after he accused the sports leading fighter of using PEDs - leading to a lawsuit and intense bitterness and bad blood between Top Rank and GBP which has made it even more difficult for these two leading promotional companies to work together in the near future. Now after teasing and claiming he came back to fight the best, it seems he is intent on denying boxing fans the fight they all want with Pac because he is scared of losing his zero. That definately won't turn people onto the sport, and will more likely turn people away with how hi-profile this fiasco has become.
