Paul Williams' last three fights have been at Middleweight and Light Middleweight, maybe that's why Mosley is considered #1. Williams beat Margarito but Marg wasn't considered #1 at the time, he only got that "title" after the Cotto fight and Mosley took it away from him.

At the time of the Cotto vs. Margo fight and a while afterwards, Paul was still the WBO WW champ. The Margo fight did not make him the man at 147 because how could he be rated higer than the man who beat him head to head and a fellow belt holder in the division?

No...if he beat mosley or cotto i would mos def consider him the man 2 beat at ww...There isn't a current "lineal champ" but if he beat either of those u would have to put him up there right now at WW

Yeah right . . . for a guy who has already climb 5 weight classes . . . fignting bums at the higher weigh class gets no praise.

. . . yes . . . JMM called him out . . . didn't Margarito called PBF out too? What happened? Didn't he made excuses then run to retirement? :D

When did Shane Mosley become the linear welterweight champion? And why did CBZ skip Judah/Baldomir/Mayweather?

Are there any freaks out there who still believe Mayweather was the linear lightweight champion?

Yep. I'm sorry, but he is. That's not the same as being the best WW, but you can't take the title off someone because you don't like the opponents they are fighting.

EDIT: I forgot he hasn't fought in 17 months. So, no, he isn't.

That's just bizzare. If Spinks was linear champion as they have listed then Judah, Baldomir and Mayweather unarguably were too.
