This is so stupid I don't know where to even begin. Oh ya, there's 87 more years left in the century, you might want to wait until it's finished before picking out who the best was. If you'd done that in the last century and stopped in 1913 you'd have probably picked Jack Johnson, or Sam Langford.

For him to be number 1 he'd have to be greater than Ray Robinson or Harry Greb and he is no where near...

If you say oh Floyds undefeated why don't you look at Robinsons or Grebs record...End, done...
Top 50 but not number 1

43's a pretty low number. Guys like Duran had 72-1 when Floyd get's there we can talk more about where he belongs.

I don't agree with your list.

    Sam Langford
    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Henry Armstrong
    Ezzard Charles

    These names I agree with.
Sugar Ray Leonard? No. H2H sure but not in terms of resume.
Pernell Whitaker? No. Not in terms of resume or skill. Floyd is better.
Roy Jones? No. Roy Jones didn't take on the same level of competition and wasn't undefeated for as long but I can understand why anyone would think Roy is better because H2H it's clear and he did go up to heavyweight and back. Still he's not undefeated and wasn't dominant for as long across as many weight classes.
Roberto Duran? No. H2H maybe, but not resume. Duran lost many of his toughest fights against his rivals while Floyd has beaten them all so far. I suppose when Floyd gets knocked out like Duran then yeah he will be on Duran's level.

Willie Pep and Benny Leonard are a toss up. I can understand why you'd pick them over Floyd. Same with Ezzard Charles and Henry Armstrong.

In order to be the greatest in 100yrs he would first have to be the greatest in 10yrs. He didn't even win the award for being the greatest in 10yrs .

, i just think some of the guys saying Floyds number 1 don't know enough to make that statement, and it's obvious if they put him at 1 they needa learn more

not my list but remember there are thousands of fantastic fighters over more than 100 years of history, anyone making a top 100 had a fantastic career,
the differences between 50 spots aint actually very much

if you want to discuss the list it is a sticky in the classic section

i posted the list just to show that there are many fighters who can be ranked above floyd, who imo has one of the worst resumes out of the top level fighters.

one thing this thread hasn't said is that floyd isn't so much purely talented as has worked very hard on his skillset(good thing)

In fairness, Sam Langford's case for being ranked number one is still very good, even to this day.

  13. yet nobody has beat floyd mayweather.

Do you think Mayweather is greater than Harry Greb or Ray Robinson?

  15. Yeah those two fighers are the epitome of overated. SRL, Hearns, Duran were all much better fighters than Greb or Robinson.
