    Greatest of his era.

I put him in my top 25 for sure. I think anybody who puts him ahead of 15 or below 35 is pretty damn foolish.

Still fights to be won or lost though.

No. In fact, there is no such thing in boxing as the "greatest of all time." Complete fantasy in my view. Too many great fighters and weight classes... boxing history is deep and rich.

I consider Mayweather the "greatest fighter of his generation," which puts him in the ATG category to me. Just being in the class of ATG is enough. No need to get into the opinionated realm of rating them 1 through 50 or whatever.

He also had slow hands and below average punching power. He was pretty much a 5'8 more skilled yet less heavy handed version of Margarito.

I'm sure I'll take a lot of **** for that statement, but I have watched as many fights of his as I can find, and I honestly don't see how people can rate him so highly. My biggest knock on SRR is the fact that he lost to LaMotta.

How can he be the 'Greatest of his era' when he doesn't even have the best resume of his era or even the best win of his era? Are we including hypothetical match ups?

Conversation could be made, but considering their are only about 130 years of pro boxing to chose from, it's tough for me to say the best boxer of the past 20 doesn't belong among the top 40 ever.

I suppose a case could be made but I would disagree with you.

    All time? **** no.

    It doesn't even need explanation.

He is an exceptionally gifted boxer though.
