He also pulls his head back straight after he throws punches.

I think what people mean by technically flawless is that they do not do anything that requires extra specaly skills. That if you were showing your average kid with out much natural talent how to box. This is the fighter you would show them.

You couldnt show your average kid pea and then say do that. They just could not.

Juan Manuel Marquez or Ricardo Lopez would be my picks.

He's very flawed. He's not exactly textbook in terms of technique, more unorthodox. He's not a great combination puncher, never has been.

    Yeah, I guess you're right.

Well Floyd should be up there then. He doesn't have the basic fundamental amateur style, but the technique that he uses makes it very difficult to hit him, and he's shown the ability to adapt and revert to the amateur style when necessary.

He should be. But he is just not the best it is just that any mistakes he makes he is so fast and has such good reflex's and defence that nobody can counter them.

Juan Manuel Marquez is technically better than Mayweather, the way he throws punches, his stance and bringing his hands back into position, and the way he delivers punches. However, Mayweather is more naturally talented and unorthdox stylewise. Two totally different styles so comparing them probably isn't fair.

If you want to show a young fighter how to box, you show him Marquez DVD's, not Mayweather ones.

so true, i like that term. i'm not a lifer on this site but I noticed a definite surge in Mayweather fans after the Hatton fight - probably hatton fans. its sort of ridiculuous. floyd has to beat huggy bear to get respect in this site?

same goes for a lot of guys after they win. i remember when cotto beat judah ppl were suckin his dick WAYY too much.

Every boxer has flaws to say he's the most flawless boxer ever is the same as saying he's perfect.

Great post as always. Lopez is my choice for the most technically sound fighter ever, Marquez my choice for the most technically sound current fighter.
