Is Mayweather vs Marquez a mega-fight?

not a MEGA fight.. it will be an upset-in-the making fight..

 

I'm absolutely shocked that so many people voted yes.

How many mega fights would have the odds so one sided in favor of one fighter? How many mega fights have trouble selling tickets?

This is just a PBF cherry picked opponent IMO.

 

You give Marquez no chance? I think the odds are stacked heavily against him, but...I don't know, maybe I'm just blinded by emotion.

 

Well, if i think about it, JMM is one of the best and PBF has been out of boxing for almost 2 years. And that might play a factor. But i still think PBF wins this fight via UD or KO. Maybe i'm wrong here. Maybe it will be more competitive.

 

Juan just looked so much stronger than I expected moving up in weight. I know it's wishful thinking that he can keep that momentum going against the p4p king emeritus (who's not only bigger than Diaz or Casamayorosaurus, but makes them look like Andrew Hartley and Charlie Zelenoff in boxing skill), but I just get the feeling he's still hungry after all these years. Hungrier than ever. And all the talk about "putting the weight on the right way, the smart way, to build power" is encouraging (even though I know nothing about strength training in general, let alone his current regimen, so I guess we'll believe it when and if we see it). I don't know...:think

 

Yeah, but still, at the end of the day, i think the difference in size will play a big factor. My initial instincts told me PBF and if i had to put a lot of money on this fight, i'm definitely putting it on PBF.

 

of course it is. Mayweather hasnt fought in almost 2 years and is gonna fight the 2nd best boxer in the world. that takes some balls and we all know Marquez wont wuit so its gonna be a great fight

 

Yes. To me it is. I would rather Floyd had fought Mosley and Marquez had fought Pac, but it's still a mega-fight.

It's funny how no thought Oscar fighting PBF at 154 was a mismatch, or PAC vs. Oscar.
Floyd is the most hated upon fighter I've ever seen and he's so damned good. People seem to forget PBF started at 130 himself and is not a big WW at all. If he started at 15 yrs. old, he would have weighed as much as PAC. PBF just moved to WW earlier.

All highly anticipated fights that even casual fans couldn't wait to see, and fights where the outcome was in doubt. It's almost a foregone conclusion that Mayweather will win this fight. The REAL Megafight would be Mayweather-Pacquiao.
