So your saying that im wrong??? Maybe you should spend more time reading the thread here, you will find that every thing that I said they has been said on this site.
Excuses? I'm just giving an objective view on the weight discrepancy for this particular fight. I will pick you up on what you said about Mosley though. I would give Floyd massive props just for stepping in the ring with Shane at this point.
if their saying that floyd is big for 140, it sounds like floyd is a ****ing welter. no excuses that he should fight one.
ah, that's why he's so great because he chose to stay at welterweight yet he keeps on staying away from his toughest competitions at that weight.. nice try bud..:good
Any "mega fight" wouldn't have trouble selling tickets. Cotto/Pacman is a megafight. PBF/Pacman is a magefight. Cotto/PBF is a megafight. You can't fool the public. People know the deal with this fight. It's a joke.
I'm pretty shocked as well but likely not for the same reasons. Which of course they shouldn't be because: 1. they shouldn't be acting like boxing accountants/managers. 2. Any reasonable person can see both Pac & Floyd gained immense amount of popularity by fighting Oscar & Ricky (JMM-Pac (pre-oscar/ricky) vs JMM-PBF (post-oscar/ricky) i.e. apples and oranges) 3. Again.. who cares away.. make the matchups. This is true.. and the crux of why it is a nice fantasy (wonder what would happen if) type of fight rather than a legit mega matchup. Similar to if Floyd had fought Winky back in the day. Hater will never be satisified by nature of what they are. Goes for all of them not just pbf-haters. This isn't about double standards this is about reasonable logical thought. Starting weights don't mean anything.. JMM 122, PBF 130, Pac 106.. etc.. fighter's bodies (like all people) change as they age and develop. It doesn't matter where they were it matters where they are and the whole scope of their career. Prior to fighting Oscar PBF had been fighting at 147 for 2 years. Although he had been fighting smaller 147 lbers he was giving his body time to adjust to the weight. He moved up 7 lbs to fight oscar. JMM highest weight as a fighter has been 135 which he moved to 1 year ago. He is now fighting at 147 (or whatever he decides to come in as).. a 12 lbs difference (at most). Had JMM been fighting at 140 for the last two years and shown to be at the top of his game then moved up to 147 to challenge PBF then we would have a valid comparison. Instead we see a JMM who is getting hit more often and is not dominating at 135 like he did earlier in his career at 126. It isn't about double standards.. it is about common sense. This isn't a mega fight because at its worst it is a tune-up and at its best it is an exibition match.
Not a mega fight, because there isn't much mystery as to who will win. The fight was made with the full expectancy that Mayweather will be victorious, and its being used as a setup for a potential real mega-fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao in the future. JMM's best doesn't belong anywhere above 135lbs, and he will have to be at his best to beat Mayweather. Something has to go disastrous for Mayweather in order for him to loose this one.
And what has Pac done without a household name? :nut No one is going to be on the level of DLH with the fighters we have today.
