okay. i'll re-watch the fight again. so i can see what your talking about, can i borrow your joyboy goggles?
Is there a megafight in boxing history where one boxer (PBF) is a heavy 4 to 1 favorite to crush his opponent (JMM) ?? I think there's none so this is NOT a megafight... Mismatch fight maybe or tune up fight... .
Was Tyson-Douglas really considered a MEGAFIGHT in the first place? I think it's a tune up fight for Tyson but he was upset in a shocker... In megafights, at least both boxers has solid chances of winning... Not that one is heavily favored to win... Upsets do happened in a boxing match...
If its not then Id like someone to define `mega-fight` for me. 2 top p4pers going at it, nah, give me the ****s with the headgear on any day. atsch
For me . . . Mega fight is a fight between two named fighters which is expected to have an outstanding sales record that could BREAK records on sales or at least compete with it. Yeah 2 P4P fighters going at it . . . but it's not on even grounds. One fighter is going up 2 weight divisions to fight an undefeated fighter? Give me a ****i'n break. This can be considered a BIG FIGHT not a MEGA FIGHT. HYPES doesn't always work. :deal
A fight no one outside boxing junkies care about. A significant fight to the boxing fan but of little interest to anyone who doesn't watch boxing on a weekly base.
two geniuses exchanging intellectual posts to each other.. one is a fat ass with a ****ing memory problem, the other is one a dumb ******..:rofl
not this fight... next fight of mayweather surely will be a SUPER MEGAFIGHT can't wait to see this one..... NO.1 RUNNER VS NUMERO UNO RUNNER FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. VS IVAN CALDERON
in terms of skill, class and talent, it certainly is. but the poor ticket sales and it getting rescheduled to a latter date seem to indicate that it also isn't. a mega-fight should also have some mainstream appeal.
Man I wonder what kind of a PPV numbers this fight will generate. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090630/ap_on_re_us/us_immigrants_money_from_home Doesn't look good for the type of crowd GBP is hopping to attract for the PPV.
fight was still one month ahead and who knows, people might realize that they could witness some of the counterpunching displays between the two masters and actually pay to see the fight.. that's why rescheduling the fight is a bad idea IMO where there is a possibility that people might get tired of waiting especially with the recent postponement and cancellations..
