Lets not turn this into a Mayweather bashing thread. With Mayweather allowing this saga to roll on and on is he giving Maidana and Khan less chance to prepare for him?

No. The fight would be more than 2 months away. Furthermore, there's nothing stopping either one of those guys from preparing right now if that's what they want to do.

I see where you are coming from but wouldn't you want to know exactly who you are facing so that you can plan diligently? It must be difficult to properly plan when there is a doubt that the fight may not happen.

The both of them are already training and in the case for Khan, he's been training since last year

Point taken but would they really get 10 weeks to prepare when you take into consideration the inevitable tour they will have to do to promote the fight? I imagine if it's Khan Mayweather team will do a tour over here in the UK.

I doubt that's Floyds intention, he probably knows as well as we all do that even with a years notice they still don't have much of a chance to beat him.

There's nothing stoping either one of them from preparing as if they're fighting Mayweather. These guys are professionals, not little children. They don't need their hands held

It does take something away and this is what Mayweather does to his opponents now that he's in a position to take advantage. You train differently when you know for sure that you're facing someone. It takes time to prepare not just physically, but mentally, learn the game plan catered to a specific opponent, etc. Not to mention all the promotional tours, events, etc that they have to attend which takes away from training.

Mentally it must be hard though because there will always be a naggin doubt that the fight won't happen.

No because he's said it's going to be one of two and has made the fight date clear.
