I guess this thread refers to the status of boxing in mexico because the top stars are getting off their perch one by one. Well to be honest, unless a plague that kills only boxers start in mexico, it will thrive on that country forever. I hate to do this, but to explain my point clearly, I would have to compare Mexico with another, let's just say Philippines. They will never run out of good fighters to build-up. Part of their success is the fact that they are only besides US. It's much easier(and less expensive) to get fighters there than say, a promoter flying to the philippines and watching fights and see which guys can be a star in America. It is a burden we have to bear, it's not our fault, but to be on the other side of the world is still being on the other sire of the world. Add the fact that Mexico has fighters that can compete on world championship level even in the higher weight class. Take Librado Andrade for example. Philippines would be lucky to get a world class welter. The last time that happened? When Ceferino Garcia was still climbing the ring. I would have to say, Mexico's boxing may have taken good hits, but it still is on it's feet.
