    Previous 3 fights :

Beat Margarito by a Ref technical decision and avenged a devestating loss.

Beat Mayorga by a 11 round TKO

Stepped up to 154 to beat undefeated Yuri Foreman by TKO

So he's been undefeated since the Pacquiao and a change of trainers and weight has done him wonders.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Previous 3 fights before Pacquiao :

Beat Clottey by Split decision eventhough most, including myself, though Cotto had lost.

Scored a TKO against Michael Jennings

Lost against Margarito and we all know what that done to him mentally!

    -------------------------------------------------------

So do you think Cotto is a better fighter now than he was just before the Pacquiao fight?

He has had an unlucky career and some may say that he has had 2 losses and both of them coming from cheaters, which to an extent is correct.

I think the second Margarito fight shows he is exactly the same: winning the early rounds big just like the first time, starting to fade, but this time Margarito had more damage and was more shop worn. He's the same guy: almost elite. I think the improvements are an illusion.

But just to vote I said he was slightly better before because he was closer to his "physical" prime - the Judah fight.

    I agree.

Cotto may seem slightly better but I still see the same fighter, the same flaws and the same style.

Hard to say, but I think so. He may have lost an offensive sharpness and willingness to engage since Margarito and then even more so after Pacquiao (where he was also very technically defective), but he has reinforced some lost fundamentals that have helped his longevity. If he can get his sharp offensive mentality back, combined with his new sharpened skills, then he'll be the best version of Cotto we've seen.

Cotto is still great, but he seems to have lost a little tiny bit in reflexes and speed, since he faced Pacman, Also his jab seems less consistent, but that's just my opinion

You really think so? His gameplan and technical discipline was completely different. His lateral movement was great, his balance was much improved, his guard was tighter, and all of these things helped him control the fight much better than he had in the first fight.

    He is miles better now.

Manny fought a weight drained, mentally damaged fighter that was way past his prime, damaged goods, Matgaritos leftovers and too green to be Facing a fighter of the level of Pacman.

The Cotto of today is a whole differant animal. He is in his Prime whilst at the same time been a young hungry lion and P4P one of the best Light middleweights ever. Floyd beating him will prove once again what a God of a Boxer he is and that he is the GOAT.

hell no he's not the same fighter, that Pacquaio loss took a lot out of him. He got the **** beat out of him yet againa nd got his heart stolen yet again. Cotto's good physcially but mentally he's far too weak to hang with the elite, he'll just quit and run when the going gets tough, it's in his make up, he is not warrior.

It's a hard argument to make that Cotto is a better fighter now, physically. We don't have much to go on outside of the Margarito fight, but he definitely has a better trainer now which could build a case for him being more mature mentally.

    I was being serious

Mayweather choosing to not fight the big money fights like Alvarez, Manny or Martinez, but instead going for the higher risk low reward fight agains the unknown danggerous body puncher in Cotto proves once again that floyd is all about giving the public and the boxing world the fights they want.

And his Legacy will remember him for it.
They said Mosley would be too young, too fast, too strong. THey said Marquez would be too slick, they said Ortiz would be too powerful. Floyd always proved the doubters wrong.

Haterz just always gonna hate bro.

An emphatic YES! Before the first Pacquiao fight, he still had the Margarito loss on his mind along with other personal problems. Now, he's lifted the Margo burden and has a Cuban legend as his new trainer. This trainer is well schooled in the science of conditioning and is a perfect fit for Junito at this point in his career.
