probably would be a GBP undercard , and cotto either signs to GBP or goes solo for the fight

I hope they make it though , i think it would be a great fight

    I agree.

Cotto is underrated these days-..guy lost to two opponents-one was clearly using illegal handwraps.....and we dont know about the other loss he has cuz u know.....with that said he's only lost one time..Cotto is still a beast-his reflexes aren't what they once were-but he is still a top dog in the sport.

This is the best fight out there for Floyd if he's gonna continue ducking Pac. But..............he'll likely continue ducking Cotto as well, and fight the least dangerous or weakest opponent there is for him. Likely, Canelo, or maybe Morales if he can talk that fight up.

My next best fight for him would be Madaina.......a credible win for Floyd who could potentially be a spoiler......a live underdog is always our best opportunity to see Floyd challenged.

Who ever says no is simply hating. In matter of fact that is why Floyd will not take on Cotto on May 5. Too much of a risk and to many distractions to take on a guy like Cotto who seems to have found hunger for the sport once again.

When I say a credible opponent, I mean at lmw though. It wouldn't mean much at ww however.

More credible at junior middle, certainly - but I'm hard pressed to name too many welterweights (other than the obvious one, whose promoter is **** blocking) who would be more credible a PBF opponent than a slightly drained 31 year old Cotto. In fact, none.

Berto? Jones? Brook? Senchenko? ...Aydin? None of them IMO would challenge Mayweather any more than Cotto even allowing that he'd probably be in poorer form at the weight than in 2009 due to having grown comfortably into 154 with age. Nobody really challenges Mayweather at all at this point, not unless he decides to grab the bull by the horns and man up to challenge middleweights.

Does your plan for Cotto winning include Mayweather slipping and hitting his head on a stool?

Alvarez will stomp the dog **** out of Cotto. I fail to see how Alvarez is a worse opponent.

Well the top 5 ww are quite clearly floyd (wbc + wba), pac (wbo), berto (ibf), ortiz, senchenko (wba bs title). Next is possibly zavek, brook, aydin and jones.

The top 4 are all unavailable. At ww i'd prefer to see floyd v senchenko, bradley or peterson.

Still ideally (given arum is ducking floyd) floyd will travel to 154 and challenge cotto who, by my books, is the best lmw in the world. It makes sense financially because if arun continues to duck floyd can have a huge unification with alvarez which will generate millions.

Mayweather will have to explain why he is fighting Cotto who is a Pacquiao leftover.

But if the fight is not at a Catchweight Mayweather gets more credit than Pacquiao + Cotto is coming off 3 TKO victories.

regardless of whether I think this fight should happen or not, I think mayweather is more likely going to fight a mexican on may 5th, and I think that mexican will be canelo alvarez
