Is Miguel Cotto An Overrated Fighter?

He gets so overrated it's sickening.


I get that he's some humble, good guy. But he's so ****ing overrated it makes me sick. And Margarito kicked his ass fair and square. No one knows for sure he had loaded gloves in that fight. Everyone assumes it because once again Cotto gets the benefit of the doubt. **** him.

 

At least he's still relevant, unlike Paul 'I'll break your hands with my face' Williams. Your bias for Cotto is widely known in the forum by now, we all know what you think, man. Why don't you make a thread about P-Will or something and get over it. Why is he overrated, nobody claimed he's a great and those who do are also biased. But he's a damn good fighter that makes for exciting fights and has a large fan base. If that's what's bothering you so much, too bad.

Cotto ain't **** but a propped-up, overrated fighter who everyone loves because they're either Puertorican, gay, or feel sorry for him becaue they think he was stoned by Margarito.


He got his ass kicked pretty decisively tonight, yet everyone is on here creaming about how he gave such a "good effort" Good effort my ass. He did the usual. He very predictably ran out of gas after round 8 and got dominated at the end of the fight... Nothing special about getting in one lucky punch against a guy who laid on the ropes all night.


Hopefully he'll **** right off, or go ahead and finally stop ducking Paul so he can finally get put out of his misery.

 

Man if you can't give Cotto credit for the effort he put in tonight, your bias speaks for itself.

His effort was no different than any other fight. He was techinically sound, with a few usual flaws, and gassed after just 8 Rounds.


Plus Mayweather fought a really stupid fight, to be honest.


Now eveyone's talking as if Cotto took him to the wire or something.

 

I agree Cotto is a bit overrated. But not as overrated as Floyd Mayweather.

I've seen the Cotto fights real time as he got up in weight. He had a hard time with some very good but not great fighters. Even before the Margarito fight, I knew he was very beatable.

This said, he is not as overrated as May. May has to be the most overrated boxer of all-time. Like his father said, "Not this time, not that time, but all time!"
