Simple question. Is this guy on the decline? I think so. That Margo beating took a lot out of him. The Pacquiao beating was devastating as well. I don't think he'll ever reach that elite status again. From a pure boxing fan point of view, I hope he beats Foreman. A Cotto win will create more interesting matchups. However, I think Foreman will box circles around him.

if Cotto still has something left in the tank, foremans style shouldnt be a problem. Outboxing Cotto isnt the answer and and guys have paid the price for it.

Yes he is. I think he gets by Foreman but won't get by another top/P4P level fighter.

He's peaked, so yeah. He seems like a mentally tough character though, so I don't expect the two beatings you mention to stop him again being succesful in the future.

He was the man to beat for a while after his close win over mosley and in mayweather's absence. He can still do well but he will never be on top again there are too many other guys out there like martinez, williams, mayweather who would beat him.

Steward can improve him but you also know how he is and after cottos next loss he will probably drop him

I think the beating he took from that cheating ass *** that shoudn't be allowed to fight here again really took its toll on him as an elite fighter, he has never been the same since

yeah, but still a good fighter. And i see him beating Foreman, JCC jr and Margie the next 15 months.. And then land his last big fight Against Mayweather.. I hope he will retire after that

I'm not sure, the beatings don't help him but I think he can still make some effective adjustments for his final fights and fight as good if not better technically pre-Margo. What I don' think he has is a lot of fights left, 4 fights tops and he should retire.

Yep Margo ruined him, without the cheating *** who knows what Cotto would have further accomplished.

I don't think we'll know for sure until we see him in action again frankly. Its difficult to measure just exactly how devastating losses effect a fighter.. Some guys regroup nicely, while others deteriorate. I think he still has quite a bit left in the tank, but weather or not he's slightly ruined by those two beatings remains to be seen.

    He is not in decline.

In his top form, he couldn't beat Margarito, who beat him fair and square. In his top form, he couldn't have beaten Pac. In his top form, he would have needed the MSG judges to get past Joshua Clottey. And in his top form, he needed low blows to keep Zab Judah off his ass (which his fans love to ignore).

He isn't in decline, as he never was all that special in the first place.
