his power isn't over rated ... I don't think he's ever been seen as a strong fighter ... he was seen as a relentless fighter w/ good body punching.
im saying though... these 3 fighters have all scored ko finishes in their biggest fights up to date.. cotto hasnt
some people refer to cotto as if hell knock your head off with one shot.... maybe im just speaking about people who dont know what their talking about... but i just wanted to clear it up.. cause im not quiet sure
Cotto is a guy who throws a punch with mean intent ... he's a very good puncher ... but when I think of power guy ... I think of someone like Ricardo Torres, Manny Pacquiao, or Edwin Valero ... who can knock you out with one right hand.
I don't think anybody looks at Cotto as a one-punch knockout artist. He isn't, but he is powerful and can **** your face up big time. He has fought a decent number of durable opponents. Though is actual strength is very, very impressive considering his size and build.
At the high level Cotto has been competing at, ko's are not a given despite the fact that Miguel does indeed have strength and power. Stylistically, Margarito was a nightmare for Cotto, but Antonio could possibly lose to Mosely , who Cotto beat, and may just lose to Williams again, who Cotto could probably beat.
No i don't think so, people tend to think that because he doesn't KO an opponent with one punch he isn't powerful. Wrong thought.
Cotto's power to destroy his opponents doesn't come from one punch only, he's a well rounded boxer that beat you up round by round until you get KO. IMO his punching power is strong, but not a 1 punch KO artist.
He is heavy handed. He is accurate and lands in combinations, but he is not known for hurting or stopping his opponents with one shot. Instead he can land a 3-4-5 punch combo and hurt you.
I give him a 7 out of 10.Hits real good.enough to hurt you.Although he doenst have huge 1 punch power
