I know Rafa was old and suffered many injures, I didn't see the fight last night. But can this win put Mijares in line for a big showdown against Nonito,Rigo or Mares?...what are his chances against these 3?( forgot Moreno )
This win definitely puts him in line for a big fight, whether he can win against the elite at 122 remains to be seen. I have my doubts. Ideally, I'd like to see him fight Rigo. The winner of that could then look at Donaire, Moreno and Mares. Regardless, it's time for Rafa to retire. One of my favourite fighters and one half of the greatest boxing brothers ever. Now he can wait on the call from Canasota.
First of all great fight!! Great battle although it was clear that both are passed it. Rafa Marquez was gone, incredibly shot, a prime Marquez destroys last night's Mijares. Rafa was also winning imo, till the stoppage. Mijares gets stopped by any of those three 122 fighters, Both locked shot, but Marquez looked very very old.
He should be Donaire's next opponent. Always wanted to see these guys fight at 115. Mijares was the one being favored at that time. A hell of a lot better than Doniare facing Arce.
Mijares isn't a force period. He beat an old shopworn Marquez who had already been whooped over a year ago by Nishioka. Beating Marquez was a meaningless win.
it was supposed to be mijares but HBO declined and wanted mathebula instead. yup i agree, this should have a closure no matter whta. these guys are rivals at 115 and once was the biggest fight in ESB with several parties plannign a life-time ban bet on who would win between the two.
I hate fighters getting mismanaged. Nonito could have fought Mijares, Morena, Mares, Arce, Darchi2, Montiel (earlier) way back in 07 when he floored Darchi. That fat ****er Shaw:twisted:
It's you, maybe your turning into a ***? You will see all men like "girls" :rofl just joking homie.:tong
