    Dear Friends
    kind regards
Here is Mike Tyson's 20 second destruction of Marvis Frazier.

Marvis Frazier must have been a real dissapointment to his Father.
I wonder what Smokin Joe made of Tyson after this match, perhaps he also knew that Tyson would rule the division.
    yours thankfully

Sure some fighters mature quicker than others, but one of the measures of greatness is how they can sustain their prowess - how long can they stay at the top. Now, I know Tyson had some extracurricular reasons for not staying at the top for an unbroken period of time, but the fact is his downfall began before the Buster Douglas fight.

He simply took his eye off the ball, didn't put the same energy into training and started relying on power to win fights. No truly great fighter would do this. Anyone can have a bad day at the office, but it shouldn't be for the want of trying.

Holyfield came back from bad defeats, was utterly committed and had complete faith in himself. Lewis got better as he got older. Tyson burned out because he lacked mental focus.

In my eyes, he's below both those guys in all-time terms.

    1. No. Never beat one of the top fighters of his era, and lost to one of the most mediocre champs in history in his prime.

    2. I rank him at #11. Below Holyfield, ahead of Lewis.

    3. Punching power, speed, chin

NA nowhere near the "greatest", resume wise, rematch winning wise, how much parkinsons you have or how broke you end up-wise, but head to head, A focused 20 yr old minus givens munis king minus drugs with rooney in his corner whoops about everyone in history exept ali and he would prob win at least 1 fight of the trilogy.

In many ways, I agree with this. He should definitely have been more focussed and dedicated. ****,, he was a party animal even during his best years, drinking champaigne like water and stuff like that. I just wonder how much longer he could have sustained his peak had he been more dedicated?
Hard to say, because short heavies don't stay on top for very long. Neither Frazier nor Marciano had long ring careers. (Ironically, it has never stopped folk from rating them very highly.)
