What happens when Mikey's adversary is willing to walk through fire to land his own punches- a dogfight ? Will he retreat or stand his ground ? Or will he just fold under pressure and quit once the first hard punches find his chin ?
Mikey never struck me as the kind of fighter relishing a firefight. I have serious doubts about him overcoming heavy incoming fire.
Spence will put pressure on him from the outside, like he does for all his opponents, and if Mikey tries to get inside and overcome his smaller reach, he will be met with punches.
I think you guys are confused. Mickey Román isn't fighting Errol Spence, he's fighting Ramiro Blanco. edit: okay, got you to fix it, good.
but you are aware that spences whole fighting style relies on inside body punching, right. that if he was to look for a fight on the outside, it would be his first time doing it and uncharacteristic of his fighting style, right? why would spence change his boxing style for the biggest fight of his career?
Spence fights tall. His power is at the end of his shots: he doesn't need to get inside to break people down. That's why it's such a bad match-up for Mikey.
