Miranda doesn't get much acclaim around here, but I give Kessler HUGE credit for taking on Miranda as a first "comeback" opponent. And if/when he beats Miranda, atleast speaking for fans in the US, he will be HUGE.

I think you're right. Miranda doesn't get much acclaim because his abilities are very limited....but saying that, he is always going to be a dangerous opponent. Kessler could have taken an 'easy' fight instead of mixing it with the very powerful Miranda. Kessler should beat him handsomely though.

well I agree pretty much ... but Kessler could use the belts to become a more attractive opponent - in terms of risk/reward. He will need a few more wins to become attractive enough in the US.

What are you talking about ? All he needs is to be impressive against Miranda and he will not only get a title shot, but he'll get it on HBO or Showtime !

By the way...he's not being paid chump change to face Miranda ! The recognition is there in Europe and from all other boxers at 168, after Miranda's ass is handed to him, American boxing fans will start liking him quite a bit !!

Not just American boxing fans, but just boxing fans in general around the world. Prior to Kessler's lost to Calzaghe, he was touted to be top 20 in the world. That status is something he's definitely lost even though he'll still fight on HBO or Showtime. But now he walks on a tight-rope where he has to win basically all his fights, and pretty much they will all be tough ones strategically aimed to making him a big name.
