Is Miranda-kessler Being Held In Montreal As Stated On Boxrec ?

I have no doubt that Bute can sell tickets - but I doubt Kessler will sell much in Montreal - nor Miranda ... 3-4000 tops. And the money will go to the one selling the tickets (Bute).

I also fail to see the logic in this fight being a lead up to Kessler-Bute ... taking on Miranda is a step towards Kessler-Taylor late 2008 much more than Kessler-Bute late 2008. Hence it makes more sence showing of Kessler in the US against a wellknown US-name.

It could be a lead up to Pascal versus the winner of Kessler-Miranda - but would Pascal be interested in that? - I doubt it.

This fight makes sense in the US or Denmark - mostly in the US as a lead up to Kessler/Miranda versus Taylor.

 

I don't know the scene in Montreal - but I'm finding it hard to believe that 20.000 would pay to see a fight between two opponents without local interest and without much of a name in Canada...

But I'd love to proven wrong of course

 

I doubt Kessler will get Taylor this year. Taylor will not fight either Kessler or Bute this year. And he is more likely to fight for a belt than for no belt and an unbeaten fighter than a beaten fighter (if these things still apply)...so you've got to think he's going to pick Bute first.

Well Teampalle has already been in talks with Taylor's management - and they've both said that a fight is likely late 2008 or early 2009. Taylor is big enough to sell without belts on the line.

Taylor would put up a better fight than Miranda imo.

Kessler - Miranda can sell alot in Montreal as a main event with some local talent on the undercard, even without Bute

Both names are known by Montreal sports fans. However 20,000 is very optimistic.

Canada is not anti US tbh most of us couldn't care less. And in quebec alot of people like the US and often go there on vacation

Has anyone seen a boxing match from MTL? no doubt they could sell it out. Of course Bute and/or Pascal would be on the card, plus they'll load it up with other Canadians like Demers and others.

And everything Pasky says about Montreal is 100% true. They love their boxing and will easily sellout a huge arena for this event. I just would rather it be somewhere in USA.
