You probably missed the story, but after their classic first fight, Morales showed nothing but respect for MAB.....Morales even sent Barrera a medal in appreciation of their great fight together. In turn, in the days, weeks, and months following their first fight, MAB spent his energies through the press, degrading Morales and HBO for the decision going against him. I dont remember the particulars, but MAB had some harsh words to say about the class of fighter he was in comparison to Morales. In essense, MAB did'nt show Erik Morales any respect for the efforts both gave in fight one, and this is what really started the hate inside of Morales that led to a feud. Morales gave MAB all the respect in the world, and in turn, all MAB could do is find words to ridicule and degrade Erik Morales. Too boot, MAB sucker punches Morales during a promotional tour before their second fight, and the rest is history. There is no question here that MAB started and fueled the hatred that is inside of Erik Morales to this day.
I'll admit im a Barrera fan but i do think Morales is an a##hole not to say Barrera cant be also but he at least knows how to hide it better. I remember the Holy/ Toney fight was too close to the date of some Morales fight and Morales said something like Mexicans fight with more excitement. He loses his temper and says stupid **** like sometimes. He was nicer before the trilogy with Barrera but he let his rival get into his head. Barrera's personality hasnt seemed to change at all unlike Morales who can appear to be a sulking ass sometimes.
Because they balance each other out MexJew. Its like some comic book daredevil v punisher ****. They bring out the best and worst of each other due to their differences similar to Ali v Frazier. Barrera provokes Morales just like Ali would provoke Frazier. In a way they need each other.
**** ya erik is bad ass. my fav. "Erik why do you hate him" (refering to berarra) "Because he's a ******. And i hate ***gots!" I'm sorry but thats bad ass.
***** ass Barrera shows his true colours in adversity. Remember the snide, blatant headbutts on Pacman when he was getting destroyed? Then there was the sucker punch on Morales. He's a mother****er with his head stuck oh DLH's ass, just as Morales says.
he gave Pacman a lot of credit after the last 2 fights, saying he was faster and stronger and his punches hurt and bothered him. The reasons the the Barrera hatred are well documented.
morales was only like that to MAB i think... their hatred to each other was funny, but as a gentleman...its gotta be Erik..in and out the ring.
actually, both did some classless things... so no use defending them really:hey anyway, if you want class..look somewhere else, im sure you'll find lots with polished nails:hi:
Here are the facts, Barrera apologists: 1) Watch the first fight, it's on this site you may have never heard of based on what you guys are saying, it's called Youtube, it's a place where they show videos. Now, search for Barrera-Morales 1, and footage shows that Morales congratulates Barrera on their great fight and gives him respect, while Barrera clearly shows through his face that he is not satisfied with the decision. Now at that point, it was clearly understandable why he would be upset, as he thought he won the fight, but when the interview came, he started mouthing off like a sore loser and even blamed HBO for giving it to the "HBO Fighter." 2) Now, search for Barrera-Morales press conference or anything like that, and you'll come across videos of a tense confrontation between Barrera and Morales. You call us blind Morales nuthuggers when anyone in their right mind can CLEARLY see that Barrera threw the sucker punch, and Erik, being the proud man that he is, threw back in his defense. Not to mention all the bad mouthing and disrespect that Barrera said preceding that very confrontation.
Morales is backing Pacquaio in a big way largely because Pacquaio has knocked Barerra out, and because they're going to fight again and he'll be ringside to see it happen again. I look more at Morales' hatred for Barerra as the stimulus for his respect and friendship with Pacquaio.
in the interview right after the second fight Morales seemed totally genuine and honest as usual and was very gracious. He admitted Pac was too much for him at this point and for the first time in his career the opponents punches were really bothering him. I doubt he was thinking of it the way you suggest, he's not consumed by his hate for MAB...but ask him about it and he will give a straight answer...'he's simply a mothe****er'
