he probably will want winning gloves i dont really care about it the way i see it if there extra padded to protect your hands more excuses to throw hard punches more consistantly without the damage to the fighters hands happening

he should let his opponents wear whatever gloves they see fit.

I dont have a problem with him wearing those pillow gloves as long as the other fighter gets to wear the gloves they want to wear.

The type of Winning gloves that Morales forces his opponents to wear, do nothing but handicap them if they are power punchers. They are known in boxing circles to be very pillow like.

Matthysse is definitely more skilled than Maidana though, and has every bit as much power, so I don't think it will matter.

well there are different brands of gloves approved by a commission and if a certain fighter is used to a certain brand, then why not let this fighter use it?

Yeah, I feel you. If a fighter has been using a certain type of glove his whole career and then has to use a different brand than it can be harmful. Especially if they have hand trouble. I'm not a sympathetic for punchers who have to change to a glove with more protection.
I think breaking your hand is more of an issue than not being able to knock out your opponent, but I understand somewhat

That's how Morales wishes to avoid retirement.

This is the first I hear of this. In the post conference against Maidana, he made the actual comment that Maidana "did not hit as hard as many say". I'm not sure if he meant it and the punches were easier to take if those gloves were used, or just denying it to himself and his bloated eye. Other Maidana contenders have mentioned that his power and punches are definitely felt. Time will tell especially if there is a rematch.

Probably. Mathysse doesn't have the power to refuse to wear them, as Pac and Barrera did. Morales loves those gloves, Barerra claimed he tried to pass off Winning gloves as Reyes for their rematch.

When told that Morales had said he lost the second fight, Barrera countered, "In the second fight, they tried to trick us. They tried to cheat and tried to pass off Winning gloves as Reyes."

"On the outside everything was Reyes, but in the inside they were Winning fabricated gloves that just had the Reyes logo," said Robert Diaz, who advises Barrera in his career.
