yes definitely. mosley is one of the top 147lb fighters, fighting at his prime weight, mayweather has rarely taken on this type of opponent at the higher weights

hatton was ****ed the moment it was a 147lb fight (not saying he would have won at 140lbs but would have been better sans Cortez)

castillo was a great win but not on the mosley level, DLH was a good win as DLH was much stronger at 154lbs

I say that because shane does not look good when he is forced to box... he looks fine when his opponent comes forward.... he don't know how to box

I think we are confusing "best fighter" with "biggest threat".

Yes of course he is I think the best fighters Floyd fought in his career up until Oscar where Corrales and Castillo. Shane is larger, faster, stronger, more well rounded then these guys. I believe to date honestly with the size took into consideration then DLH was Floyd's best opponet and I think Shane can try to use the gameplan to some extent that Oscar used the 1st 8 rounds. Thing is we know Shane is a better fighter then Oscar because he has defeated twice this verison of Shane is much faster of foot and of hand that the 2007 ODLH. Shane also has no history of fadding down the stretch hell thats the reason why he beat DLH both times. Without question Shane Mosley even at 38 is the best fighter 33 year old Floyd Mayweather has ever fought.

I see all these ollllldddd comments but as a Shane Mosley fan stop using that damn excuse. Shane has been considered past his prime since 2002 and guess what hes still putting quality fighters to sleep and outboxing boxers like Luis Collazo. You can say you are as good as your last fight and in Shane's last fight he looked as good as he ever did maybe not as explosive as before but fundementally he looked great Shane was doubling and trippling a stiff jab to the body and the head when the hell has Mosley ever did that ? Mayweather isnt spring chicken anymore either hes 33 hasnt faced a true elite opponet at his weight (maybe MAYBE Oscar) since 2002. Mayweather used to be dazzling fast much like Shane was but you can see how his speed has dropped slightly since he became a Welterweight. This isnt the Mosley who beat DLH in 2000 and this isnt the Mayweather who beat Diego Corrales in 2001. What we still have is the Welterweight Champion Mosley vs the undefeated p4p # 2 fighter each other.

Definitly. Its a big step up for Mayweather. So far his best opponent was Juan Manuel Marquez but he was a smaller guy. Castillo is his second best opponent on his resume and he struggled with Castillo in the rematch and clearly lost the first fight so Shane is a huge step up for him.

This is the best fighter Floyd has faught without a doubt. When you say "Faded" it makes it sound like Shane isn't a threat or dangerous when he very much is. Even though this is NOT the best version of Shane you gotta give Floyd props for taking on this kind of challenge....its up there with Manny and Paul Williams had Floyd fought them.

Either this or Oscar cause it was at 154 and gave into all of Oscar's demands

I think you're right. The style match up just isn't favoring Shane....especially since he's going to be a tad slower than Floyd which will make huge difference b/c Shane will have to chase Floyd while avoiding the accurate jab and lead right.

i'm sure Shane will have his spots...but I see this fight looking a LOT like Shane's rematch with DLH....maybe even a bit more onesided.

So long as shane does have enough left in the tank, i think he is floyds best oponent to date.
He has everything a fighter needs to beat floyd.
Does he have enough left at his age ?
Fight night will tell us that answer.
The rest is speculation and fan boy ****.
