    Why insulting the guy?

He honestly admitted he didn't know Mora.
He said some people here are talking about him as a bum (which is true).

Why didn't you just answer the noob's question?

Oh wait...i just saw you avatar...now i understand.

This has been gone over. In today's information-at-your-fingertips age, and with Mora obviously being well-known enough to have large contingents of people on a board calling him a bum (meaning there is probably a plethora of journalistic writing and fight footage floating around) he could easily have educated himself on Mora on his own and formed his own opinion on whether Mosley was taking on a suitable opponent, rather than ignorantly create what any but the most naive person would have to look at as a wind-up thread.

This isn't school, it's the internet and a boxing forum, a place you go to when you're bored and want to kill time. Do you go to school with that kind of attitude?. Above all, the main point of a school is to pay these people to TEACH you. If you log on here with an attitude that it's a school in some way then you must have issues.

As I mentioned already, the poster looks like he already made up his mind about Mora and opened a thread about it. It looks more like "Mosley is fighting someone I don't know, does this mean he has given up boxing?". Go ahead and tolerate that especially with YouTube being available with endless fights.

this is a really stupid thread. Mosley took an asswhooping in his last fight. At his age, he needs to fight to see where he's at. This isn't MMA where you don't build yourself up. I'm tired of these mma fans coming to our board. Sergio Mora is one of the most underrated guys in boxing, mainly because of his association with the contender, ugly style, & alot of inactivity, so he doesn't really get to showcase how good he is. He's solid, not great, not a bum. If this fight were at 160lb, i would not hesitate picking Mora to win. He doesn't really belong at 154 Shane has never been that great at 154 & is very beatable in that weight class. If Sergio makes weight comfortably he has an excellent chance at winning

Tolerate? Just saying it didn't deserve insult.
Far more tolerable than the CLottey-Pac was fix....Pac is on Peds...That ***** deserved to be beat by PBF...Malignaggi will ko Khan...and so on...

It just looks that a lot of you guys (even myself sometimes) have developed a reflex where, as soon as you disagree with someone, its shut the **** up...

The guy is clearly a noob. Explain to him how he is wrong about Mora being a bum (well...i think he's being overrated in this particular thread) and how most fighter go with something "easier" after a loss. Thats all. At least the guy would probably come back with more knowledge next time instead of turning into a "shut the **** up" himself.

True there is a lot of tards here that rightfully generate that kind of comments...
I just don't think that's the case here.

Forgive my bad english. (2nd language)

As to the 1st paragraph - I am definitely guilty of a quick trigger finger on here. I don't know if ESB has made me grumpier or if it just brings out the latent Denis Leary in me, but touché on that point. Even when a gentle correction is called for rather than a dressing-down some of us do go overboard.

My only problem with that second point of yours is that despite his relatively low post count and his username being "newby johnson" he obviously has a join date of a year and a half ago. That means he's been following the sport enough to stay registered and involved on a boxing forum for a year and a half. You'd have to wonder how someone can go that long and claim to have no firsthand knowledge of a boxer who isn't a household name but does have a great deal of TV exposure (as much as or more than any non-elite, really) and who has been ranked fairly high in his chosen division (at the time newby registered that username, Mora was likely still in the top 20 at junior middleweight). Even though Mora's last meaningful fight was before nj joined, you'd think that he'd have at least some passing familiarity with him - and if not, that his curiosity would prompt him to want to look for himself with a quick Google video search rather than pose a question to a boxing forum like "Is Mosley's choice of opponent a sign that he's given up? I ask because some (of you) say he's a bum...". You know? Why not look for yourself first. Then, if you still think it's thread-worthy topic of discussion, put it out there.

As it is - the answer to his original question is a resounding NO (if there was a poll it would be like 138 to 4 no-to-yes right now, with 4 people just ****ing around). He'd have known that had he just put forth a little time to dig and decide for himself. Then, if he chose to, he could make a thread presenting his own opinion stating whether Mora is or isn't the best available opponent for Mosley or something like that.

Just the slightest investigation on his part - even just a quick peek at a couple of highlight packages or a few mainstream boxing articles - would have eliminated the need for him to even ask this ultimately (whether intentionally or not) rhetorical question.

think t is actually the opposite. i think it is mosley trying to prove his point at 154. i thnk it is mosley trying to prove he will take on every style of boxer.

mosley is in a catch 22 situaton here tho. i would be hugely surprised f he beat mora. but if he did, he wont really receive any credit for the victory.

There it is again, I "honestly admitted". As though not knowing who Mora, or any other boxer, is is something to be ashamed of.

I see Shane winning the 1st 4 round maybe 3-1 after that I see Shane getting tired and Mora winning the rest of the rounds by UD..." SHANE STILL BOX THE SAME WAY HE DID 12 YEARS AGO ,NOTHING HAS CHANGE. MORA WILL WIN.

it's a solid name and a game opponent who is skilled and hungry. I actually think it's a bad idea for mosley to face a boxer with comprehable hand speed. He needs to fight brawlers. This fight may be uncalled for and meaningless, but it will be entertaining and interesting.
