Foster was a light heavyweight SKINNY and COULDNT hurt HW's but somehow hurt Ali?. I dont need to ask anyone,my post summed up Alis power. Shavers was knocked out by Quarry in one rnd ,i didnt get who Quarry knocked out who was known as a iron chinned fighter? You can big up Ali all you like ANYONE who studies boxing knows he wasnt a power puncher INCLUDING Ali. you couldnt school anyone remotley knowledgeable on here ,i think i proved that MANY times already on here.

 

That depends ,a natural puncher who knows what muscles to use could certainly hit harder than a HW. I posted a brief power punching vid in the training section mostly with body punching on a 150 pound bag though not at 100%. You generate strongest power through the core and driving through the shoulder,strong tendons will help absorb the impact and a strong hand/wrist/forearm let you hit the target harder without breaking anything. Speed/technique and accuracy will generate the stronger punch which offensive hook punches will do the most damage bc you use the lats which can really drive a punch through the target. Ali was a tall lanky natural 6'3 guy who didnt remotly have hard punching form and fought to win on points not k.o people.Even if you are fast and weigh more that doesnt mean you generate more power...you STILL have to have the ability to hit hard. the average HW will hit harder than lighter weight classes of course.

 

Not if theyre feather fisted and wearing boxing gloves. It would take a long time to say the least. Have you ever sparred before? Theres a big gap between having enormous punching power and being "featherfisted". There are many categories in between.

It's interesting to note James Galvatron has switched the Ali vs AJ debate from who would win (a question posed last week and resoundingly won by Ali) to who is more powerful. This is, of course, a diversionary tactic and an admission that when it comes to comparing each boxer's all-round talent, there is only one winner - Ali.

AJ is clearly more powerful and reliant on this. Ali had more strings to his bow - more talent - he didn't need to rely on just one aspect of boxing to succeed, whereas we have yet to see what AJ can do once his power is resisted. To try and focus the debate on power alone is a tacit acceptance of the indisputable fact Ali was the far greater talent of the two.
