beat 3 guys who are generally considered to be top 10 ATG in that division (Frazier, Liston and Foreman who most people seem to believe is in the top 10, but some people debate if Foreman should be). Has any boxer ever beat 3 or more ATG in one weight division?

Jeffries beat Jackson, Goddard, Fitzsimmons, Corbett.

These guys would probably have made any top 10 list at that time.

Jack Johnson beat Langford, McVey, Fitzsimmons, Jeffries, Jeanette. Before he retired, there was possibly 5 people off many peoples top 10 lists, right there.

With Fitzsimmons, Jeffries and Langford you would have been on prety safe ground, after Langford had startted to decline. Some would have argued the case for McVea also, or even Burns.

Very good can't believe I forgot about that one- while they were past there best they would still beat the rest of the best. People tend to overlook how much trouble Louis gave to Marciano at points.

Foreman certainly SHOULD be,imo. Ali's resume is second to none,as I'm always saying. I know that a lot agree with me on this point.

for sure. it is not only those three. just look at a few others. patterson, norton, chuvalo, terrell, bonavena, folley, lyle, ellis, williams, shavers, etc etc. as a heavyweight he has the best resume of them all

  13. 1_ foreman is higher than liston and frazier by a mile, he is the oldest hw ever, he destroyed frazier himself,(twice). and norton, 2 men that did beat ali.(i think that norton never did beat ali)
2_he was the champion again after being retired during 10 years, he was competent in his 40s against prime holyfield and he knocked michael moorer out.
3_foreman is not top 10 hw, he is top 5

Just have to say this - no disrespect but IMO that is one of the biggest falasies of Marciano's career - the Joe Louis on that night in that fight didn't give Rocky Marciano one iota of trouble whatsoever AT ANY POINT IN THE FIGHT - the was as steady a one sided pummelling from start to finish as you could get in those kind of tragic circumstances - it actually surprises me how these myths keep going - it's like one person in the press says it and then everybody follows suit?? Louis didn't give Marciano any trouble at all - never really landed much at all let alone hurt him and Marciano was hurting Louis with pretty much everything he was landing - it reminds of the split glove myth in the first Cooper-Ali fight - how that one kept going all these years until fairly recently I'll never know when all you have to do is look at the film to know Cooper was talking out of his you know what
