Is Muhammed Ali a better boxer than Joe Fraizer(prime)?

    Although he found out in his damaged dotage when he became a beloved world figure that there was more to life than boxing, and he famously asked “Why I do this” (direct quote, I am not trying to make him look bad with bad grammar) after Manila, IMO Ali loved the sport down to the DNA in his bone marrow. He had a lot of “hawgs at the trough” to feed, absolutely, but I think he hung on because he couldn’t give it up.

    That was certainly part of it, yes, which is why I said there was a reason beyond money. Money was a factor, as was the limelight. But so was a stretch where he never conceded any kind of serious beating (64-70).

    He loved being Muhammad Ali and he never felt more like Muhammad Ali when he was in the thick of things.
