    Doug Tucker hooked him up.

I'd love to see a push for drug/ alcohol testing boxing judges.

Hell yeah theres a controversy, the ref was helping Diaz all night and one of the judges tried to steal the fight for Juan.

Campbell should of won by UD.

Yea that was messed up. Campbell fought a great fight but he should have taken the drug test anyways evn though it was not mandated. Now this will cloud his victory and we will always wonder what if.

The only controversy in this fight is the fact that one of the judges actually scored the fight for Diaz.

I give Diaz credit for a gutsy performance but Campbell beat the living snot out of Diaz.

Although I do think he should have won by UD, I think it might be a bit of an exageration to say the ref was helping Diaz. While I did think that the point deduction might not have been warranted, I also thought Campbell got a lot of milage out of using his head, especially once the cut was opened up.

On a related note, I didn't think Diaz (or his corner for that matter) handled the cut very well, and I think that Campbell's experience really shone through as he worked the cut every chance he got. I am interested to see both fighters in the ring again though and suspect many others feel the same which can only be a good thing for boxing.

It was Campbell who was overcoming the odds in that fight, with a BS point deduction and incompetent reffing and judges, not to mention a crowd who was very (understandably) pro-Diaz which often can sway a judge's perception of what was really going on in that fight. Diaz had all the advantages in this one, and Campbell overcame them.

I agree with Marting, the only controversy should be that Diaz was given the fight by one of the judges. Boxing is so ****ed up and unsanctioned and organized, when I heard the first judge's scorecard I was CERTAIN they were going to screw the rightful winner of of his hard earned victory. Luckily it didn't happen on that night.

And those that are claiming the controversy is well deserve because Nate didn't take a drug test, that poor move was on behalf of the sanctioning body who promoted that fight, not Campbell himself. If he had refused the test, I would join in on the suspicion, but you really thin k in the middle of his victory part he should have been all like, "wait a minute, I wasn't **** tested! Stop the party!" It wasn't his job to get a sample after/before the fight. It as some one's job, and that someone needs to be fired with much quickness.

Im a Diaz fan and there's no excuses for what happened, HE LOST!!
He got schooled to a degree and must show, learn, and improve off it.

I've confidence that he will, as this YOUNG MAN has done a a lot to this point, and I applaud his dedication to education!!! Even the best lose, there's more to LEARN.:good

This makes a Diaz vs katsidis all that more APPEALING!! Get back on and win a few? A campbell rematch will be REQUIRED:hey

Very well said, man. All of our favorites lose at some point, no need to go all conspiracy theory for a fight that doesn't need it. When a fighter admits he lost clean, it's time to put the theories to rest. Diaz has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, he fought on like a warrior in a fight that he lost. He can still accomplish much in the sport if he chooses to continue fighting.

While I definately think drug tests should have been done, I don't think the fact they weren't should take away from Cambell's victory. That was an incredible fight, and this issue is a red herring, for one simple reason.

Unless, Cambell knew before the fight that a drug test wasn't going to take place, he certainly would have gone into the ring on the assumption that one was going to take place.

That was a great victory and the fact a drug test didn't take place is a reflection on the WBC, not on Cambell.

And I will add my opinion that if there was any controvery at at all, it was with one judging giving the decision to Diaz, which simply shouldn't have happened. That said, they both fought like true warriors and at it's best, that's what boxing is all about!!

Exactly...finally someone that uses their head for something other than a hat rack.....:nut It's funny how people cant apply the same standards or opinions to everyone.....this goes the same if Diaz had won...

Are you people capable of thinking?

Lets imagine that Hopkins stomps the **** out of Calzaghe and doesnt take a drug test after the fight......How would it be accepted then?
It wouldnt.....and the bitching would never end:deal

Diaz ALSO didn't take the blood test. It wasn't either of their jobs to secure a sample.
