the only trainer who looks for illegal handwraps? Seriously, there were rumblings from other fighters about Tito and he exposed that, and now exposes Margo as a cheat. Does this really show a lack of elite trainers in the sport to not catch these handwraps prior to Richardson exposing this? Thoughts? It really makes you wonder, would Jack mosley have caught this, or would Shane have been tore up by Margo as a result? Scary to think about.
The boxing commission should have a representative to watch the fighters get their hands wrapped and have someone film it as well. I don't think it should be the opposite trainer that keeps tabs on the other fighter. Good catch by Nazim, tho.
Manny Steward said last night that many trainers just treat it like a formality. I have seen fights where they send over the cutman or someone else to check the wraps. I hope this is an eye opener for teams to send over a competent person to check the wraps.
