Why? Because he doesn't fight in the UFC like Gray Maynard and Jon Fitch do?

Indirectly, yes. When doing head to head match-ups, just because someone beat someone else doesn't mean they automatically defeat someone else. When ranking fighters, however, who they've beaten is of extreme importance.

Daley is a good win, but it is an accomplishment that Koscheck has also completed. Alves proven better than Koscheck by actually defeating him, and Fitch has a good string going for him that includes a win over Alves. You can make the argument that Diaz should be ranked near Koscheck, but I don't think he can put ahead of Fitch or Alves.

Im not sure , if he makes an entrance into the P4P rankings he comes in somewhere from 8 - 10 IMO , people are just forgetting that diaz cannot wrestle , and he has been matched well by SF in that they have managed to keep his competition reasonably competetive and marketable without feeding him anybody who can wrestle .

I love Diaz , i really do , but that hole in his game just prevents him from entering the P4P rankings for me , but beleive me i can see how people brand him along side the sports most talented fighters .

Koscheck would beat Alves comfortably if they fought again.

I would rank Fitch higher than Diaz just now, but not Alves.

Diaz deserves recognition for his run of wins and his run of performances. Neither Alves nor Koscheck deserve likewise.

Thats a pretty bold prediction bearing in mind the way Alves dismantled him last time out (short notice or not) , and add to that Thiago KO'd Koscheck !!!

Koscheck doesn't get points for beating someone just because you think he would win a rematch. He needs to actually beat him.

Id say he has the ability to be a top 10 p4p and he is close but he wont be unless he fights in the UFC agian. The competition over the last few years has been pretty darn good KJ, Gomi, Shamrock, Smith, Zaromskis, Sakurai, Daley, Cyborg etc but it has not been the top guys like a Fitch, GSP, Alves, BJ and the other top guys in the UFC Welterweight divison. Diaz has pretty much cleaned out Strikeforce which is damn impressive but the big dogs at 170 are in the UFC.
