If Helenius can stay on the outside, he can outbox Wilder. IF he stays outside. Jab like a MFer and make lateral movements (as much as he can). Get Wilder to round 8 or 9 he could pull it off.

Helenius is big and has slowed down with his age along with wear and tear.

The only concern is how is Wilder after losing back to back against Fury?

Wilder is not the best boxer to start with but if he’s only at 60% of where he was against Fury I expect him to end this inside 8 rounds. The mental game is the toughest and after all the excuses from Wilder about Fury and his egg beater gloves one must wonder where his mind is at these days.

I enjoy watching Wilder because like his name he is wild inside the ring. His boxing ability is limited but his power is real.

Wilder by TKO unless he has a Rocky / Clubber Lane moment inside the ring and mentally breaks down.

To me this fight is more about what condition Wilder shows up vs how good Helenius fights. Heleno us is more skilled, but his isn’t as physically capable as Wilder. Wilder was good enough to fight three valiant fights against Fury, however I don’t think he will have much of a chin going forward. We shall see how it goes.

Helenius has definitely slowed, but his timing is still there, and his killer instinct is back. But I did notice a significant contrast from the 2011 destruction's of Peter and Liakhovich to the Kownacki fights in 2020 and 2021. He's definitely slower, looks a bit more cumbersome. I wonder if that's purely due to age slowing his reflexes down, or the extra muscle he's added over the years. Might be a little bit of both. Still... Very excited for this one. You just never know what's going to happen when two vulnerable big punching heavyweights get in there and throw down.

Helenius is a huge underdog in everyones eyes, resulting in the Wilder-Ruiz chatter.

Reality is Helenius has never fought at this level before. His best opponents he's shared the ring with are Whyte and Chisora and he lost to Whyte and should of lost to Chisora. This is the level Helenius really is at and only way he really wins is if Wilder has been completed ruined by Fury.

Should be a Wilder win. However, if Helenius manages to catch Wilder, will the memories of his beatings by Fury come flooding back ?
Psychologically & physically he was broken. Only bravery kept him going in his last fight against TF, his corner could/should have pulled him out again.
Helenius will know he has a chance, purely because he knows Wilder could be very fragile.
If he can take Deontay beyond 5 rounds, he will be confident.

    Whoever trains harder wins.

Usyk, Fury, AJ, Wilder vs, these guys take boxing very very seriously and trains accordingly. Boxing is their professional career. They make a living on it. It's their life.

Boxers like Helenius probably have other jobs and they do boxing training time to time, like a hobby, not taking it seriously.

So, it's impossible that Wilder loses to a boxer like Helenius.

I've long been a fan of Helenius, he's an incredibly likeable and easy guy to root for, and just when I start contemplating scenarios in which he can pull off the upset.

    I think of this....

    ....and then this.

Then I immediately go back to fearing for Helenius' life.

On the flip side Helenius demolished Kownacki who beat Washington quicker than anyone else has(including Wilder) and Teper who beat Duhaupas, and Breazeale while taken out early caught and stunned Wilder in exchange with his back to the ropes which was very similar to the uncalled knockdown Helenius scored in Kownacki I. Idk.... Most Helenius fans such as myself seem very excited about this one, it's a very dangerous fight for him (one in which he could be brutally KO'd in, but also a golden opportunity in the twilight stage of his career. Fights like this are what make boxing great.
