His biggest win was Darchinyan and that was a long time ago.

History tends to point towards Donaire not taking risks to fight the fights
that he should be - he wont fight Rigo or Nishioka, thats all talk.
I wasn't one bit surprised to hear that he was slated to fight Arce.

Bit overrated perhaps, an overweight Conception nearly done him,
so I can see why Rigo is biting at the bit to get at Donaire.

You know, CompuBox ****ing up any accurate view of reality beyond belief or Donaire marking up easily by nature doesn't really change the fact that he got the better of the action in nearly every round. I'm just saying.

Now that I read it...I agree that many times he looks one punch KO hungry...similar to Mosley when he beefed up...Mosley's knockouts came from quick combinations...but then I think he wanted to prove he was as strong as the bigger guys...

Nonito has plenty of talent, hand speed, punch selection, power, etc to mix it up, control with jabs and quick combinations and letting the power shots come...he can be an awesome counter puncher too..

I think he should focus on those tools and knockouts may keep coming...and then against fighters who shell up or are awkward, he'll at least have more success (from a viewer's perspective) in controlling the fight without looking ordinary..

naturally, a 5'5 guy vs a long 5'11 fighter who shells up doesn't always spell spectacular performance

    Nice post.

Nonito or shall I say " ñoñito " doesn't have the courage to fight Guillermo Rigondeaux period. He has nightmares when he hears " Rigondeaux " in his sleep. Now he is talking about fighting Arce and Nishioka but no Rigondeaux? What does Rigo has to do to get this guy in the ring with him? Confront him face to face? :-(

by the way, Gamboa is already at 135 pounds, way too high for Nonito. Either way, Gamboa spanks him back to kindergarten. :|

Mexicans were accusing me yesterday of being the author of some article against Canelo in some boxing web page. Don't be surprise if Pinoys blame me as well for this one.

No I don't think so. The guy is always up for big fights. His two biggest wins Darchinyan and Montiel he did it spectacular fashion. And the other fights he's won as well hardly breaking a sweat. Hopefully he stays in a weight class though and dominates there to secure his legacy.

The article made sense but i see the reason being more on the economic rather than on the pugilistic or psychologic. Nonito is on the cusp of breaking into the PPV market and he must have been looking way too deliberately to look spectacular--a wrong thing to do given that as he climbs into the weight ladder, bigger opponents won't be folding before him than they used to in the lower weights.

I agree that he has to focus on his technique and harnessing his strengths--KOs will just happen spontaneously. Donaire should set his sights on his legacy, true potentials, and talents--the moolahs will follow later on.

Don't know what happened to Nonito since leaving his father he has become arrogant.

Showboating! and hell bent on knocking out his opponent with one shot. It's so annoying to watch. One more of that and I

ain't watching his shite fights again. This is the sweet science.Use it be humble, use the brain and skills.Throw some combos

    your style is boring.
