Well put. He was in razor close fights with an in-form Thurman and Spence, gave a 1 sided drubbing to Broner and Malignaggi, beat Danny Garcia clearly. He did struggle a bit with Granados and that fight with Ugas could've went either way but he didn't employ his normal tactics in the Ugas fight (I'd favor him to beat Ugas in a rematch if he fought him in the same manner he fought Spence and 90% of his fights.) The only time I thought he clearly lost was against Brook and that was still a competitive fight for the most part. The version of Porter that showed up last saturday would be someone I'd favor to beat Pacquiao. He's just relentless, has a good chin and throws a lot of punches per round. His style isn't the most aesthetically pleasing but it's effective and almost always causes great trouble for his opposition. I'd love to see Porter fight Crawford. It would be interesting to see how Terence would deal with the incessant pressure that porter brings from the opening bell.
Which ultimately means that Spence is human, not superman, and is around the same level as every other top Welterweight. Which is what I've always thought.
I agree but I also think spence is overrated. The majority of people picked him to win this fight and to do so easily. Few of us knew better. I like Spence and hes a really good fighter but he is not head and shoulders the best guy in the division like many would like to believe. If Thurman can be the Thurman that beat Garcia and Porter again I can see him beating Spence and im already on record saying Crawford schools him.
He is overrated, he was put in top 10 then top 5 P4P by American media for no reason at all. Where is Porter on those lists?
Well... Some people put Usyk #1 even though Porter and Brook wins are comparable to Gassiev and Breidis wins imo
Every loss that Porter had at the highest level was a close loss where he pushed the opponent to the brink. He's the WW truth serum. If you can't out fight him, he'll for the most part drown you and run you over. Spence isn't overrated, Thurman wasn't overrated, Kell wasn't overrated. A person is exposed if they lose, not if they go through a hellacious fight with a consistent top 5 guy and come out a winner and more vetted from it.

He's pretty impressive when career 140 pounder featherfists and Mexican leprechaun 135 pounders are standing in the opposite corner but not quite so much when world class opponents his own size are.
He is overrated like hell. Boogeyman and PFP king he is not. He is just a good fighter in a weak era.
Well this. He’s overrated because him and Crawford were suppose to be the heir to Floyd and Pac, guys who were far ahead of the other top guys in their prime. Spence hasn’t separated himself from the pack of top guys. Danny, Thurman, Porter, ugas, Crawford, Spence, brookes (if he’s still fighting). That’s the current crop and maybe Crawford is a level above that but he hasn’t showed it yet. They’re all having close fights with each other. The fact that a 40 year old Pac just beat one of the top guys says a lot. Now you look at the previous generation, cotto-Mosley-Margarito-clottey were the top WWs. They were the Thurman/porters/Garcia of their era, probably better. But floyd and Pac showed themselves a class above that crop of top guys. I was expecting Spence to do that. He didn’t. He’s had close fights with 2 of the top guys.
