I think Solis could like many have suggested lose 15 pounds, but he is very quick, effective, has an astute boxing brain and throws very mean shots from angles.. The best fight to look at his temperament is against Kevin Burnett.. he was compact, picky with his punches and not as wild.. a bit more selective, he is at the moment in my top 3 or 4 fighters without belts that may be close to ready to challenge for one... a win over an Adameck or Tua would solidify a statement that he is prime for honors.. He is beginning to show that a raw slugger with a good brain may just be able to contend against the best the division has... Top Rank and Bob Arum know they have a star in Olandier.......

any updates on Solis? he's still ranked high in the WBC ... will he try and fight in an Eliminator to earn a shot at Vitali?

He needs to drop to at least 230 before people will take him serously.

He could be a real threat if he starts applying himself.

Definitely. And Thompson might be a really bad fight for him. It would be good practice if he becomes Vitali's mandatory, but I think Solis would have problems dealing with Thompson's length.

Solis has quality skills and strength, plus a superb amateur career with a record of 227-14.
I'd love to see him get the motivation to stop being disgustingly obese and cut down to about 225lbs, however he's probably too lazy.

I agree, Thompson is a difficult opponent stylistically for anyone. If Solis can't beat Thompson, he can't beat the Klits, that is the point. These so called contenders need to step it up.

Totally wrong! Amateurs are 75% of a boxer's arsenal! The ones that have failed are the ones that have'nt dedicated enough to professional boxing.

Solis is the most decorated HV amateur to date in the US...

He is the next great HV...:good

Solis will eat Thompson for lunch ! LITERALLY... :good

Solis defeated Felix Savon 2 times and Savon was 6'6 with huge hands and nasty punching power... :-(

    Thompson? Please... :-(
