THis weekend expect an 'old school' masterclass, headbutts, rabbit- punches, excessive clinching, elbows, low-blows & faked low-blows, Bernard will bring his A-game!! Does this mean that John Ruiz & Andre Ward are also 'old school' masters and when any non-american fights 'old school' (i.e. Hatton) they are dirty cheating motherf*ckers???

Yeah, but seemingly only if the fighter is liked and respected, example.....

Hopkins, as appose to someone like Hatton.

If you like the fighter then it's old school, being physical etc

If you don't like the fighter then it's cheating

See fans of Ward/Hopkins/Hatton vs those who are not.

ezzard charles and jersey joe walcott (the mongoose) these are some of the throw back fighters hopkins watches and takes tricks from.when i think of old school i think of how the guys back in the day use to fight, how they could roll with and parry punches, the head movement was great then.when hopkins says hes taking someone to school its not to head butt and foul and play hurt.hes going to try to do to pascal what he did to kelly pavlik.and thats outclass him.

pascal should be stronger, faster and better cardio because he is only 27 but this is still a 50 50 fight.i think bhop will either dominate or he will lose one sided.

It's not cheating, it's fouling no matter who does it. In a way, fouling can be considered "old school" if it's done in a sneaky way so it looks like it's not deliberate so the ref can't catch it like Ward & Hopkins. Guys like Ruiz & Hatton make it look so deliberate so they aren't "old school" at least from what I've seen from them. I can't blame them because in a fight you have to toughen up a get the W. People can't say "He fights dirty ref, I don't like that:|:|:|" just because someone fouls. They have to fight through it by either getting even and/or by kicking their ass. Fouls have been around as long as their have been rules made so of course guysare going to do it whether to their advantage or not. People need to stop crying over fouls as they're VERY old news.

well its one in the same because old school fighters never thought twice about elbowing and headbutting the **** out of eachother when they got the chance

It is funny when people call Ward's style of fighting "old school".

It's only cheating if the ref sees it.
