it’s not a thread celebrating usyk. It’s a thread that asks if he, emphasis on he, usyk, is hero of boxing. If he’s not who’s the hero? Some argue Joshua some might argue bakole who hasn’t given his chance

Absolutely nobody would argue Bakole is the hero of boxing.

I think you're lone in arguing for Bakole but fair play for suggesting it. It's your thread so happy to accept being wrong as often happens on here :)

Where did I argue for bakole bob? You’re having a mare in here. I said billy Nelson might argue a case for bakole

I think we're into the realms of playing with words here. You introduced Bakole to the thread, can we agree on that? Why?

I already said about 5 posts ago I agreed with everything you said bar the Bakole it, feels like a fuss over nothing.

I’ve already explained why bob and here we go again. I’ll do this slowly for you and on new lines ok

is usyk the hero of boxing? - it’s a question

Some think yes in fact many do. Fine

to add balance I say people may say Joshua and that’s because he was an amazing champion and lifted boxing out of the doldrums in so he may be the hero for some for bringing heavyweight excitement back

Martin bakole may be the hero as he fights anyone at any time and Nelson says he has heat up everybody in sparring including usyk and it’s only through politics has he has not been able to do it all in the ring, so he might be the hero really it’s just politics stopping it.

what’s so hard for you to understand? It might not even be a heavyweight it might be a middleweight or that little Chinese guy everybody loves that I’ve not seen. He may be Japanese I’m not certain really. Lightweight guy. So is he the hero? Does he face anybody? Is it Saul Alvarez? He’s all people banged the drum about besides Joshua for years. Is it beterbiev with his hundred percentage KO ratio fights all over the globe. Is he the hero? Is it fury for all he’s done as he’s been the most dramatic heavyweight in recent times? To give the thread balance other names need to be thrown in the mix otherwise it’s not a bloody question it’s a statement isn’t it? Do you get it now bob before you flap your gums without thinking again or reading what I’ve said? No offence but good bloody grief your hard work buddy

Not entirely sure what provoked this reaction to a fairly innocent comment, but... yes I understand, yes it's a fair debate, yes I get your question and potential answers on Usyk and yes he's a hero. Sorry for any confusion and I'm going to mute this thread and never come back to it.

“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”

I think AJ has been a hero, but has become hated now (not sure why).

Fury became a hero by opposing the bad guy wilder and saying he’s been mentally broken, but is becoming hated now.

usyk has become a hero, assisting this is beating the new bad guy in fury.

I do believe that most of this “hero/villian” following is mainly British casuals, especially with fury.

I do feel usyk is a form of hero for boxing as he has challenged fury and beat him, calling out his nonsense without becoming a bad guy himself (like wilder).
I have thought fury is bad for boxing for many years, and fury beating him has helped boxing as a sport.

I think everyone will agree that Bakole is to heavyweight boxing what ex army jim is to the forum - two outright legends!

Usyk came and completely disrupted the heavyweight division and he did it at just the right time, when no one seemed to want to fight each other for years and when Fury was at the height of playing his games. He kind of ended all the games and is top dog now, and he did it with class, showing AJ and Fury up for their own flaws. I admire both AJ and Fury in a way for what they have achieved but they thought they would be ruing the division forever, bit of a reality check. Usyk is no doubt a hero, he brought sanity and class to a division that isn't even his natural weight.

Be concerned if I was Usyk's team. Turkey clearly wants a Fury win.

I think Turki did last time also. He clearly wants to make Fury v Joshua. Hopefully Usyk can get the KO this time round.

Perhaps Turkey enjoyed the Royal Humble meltdown at the end of Usyk 2 and looking for another good laugh.

Usyk v Joshua 3 would end up with the same winner and I can see Humble Timber on the canvas within 8 should the Riyadh Board of Boxing order the fight.
