I would agree with that. Beating Werdum, likely Fedor, and whoever wins the other side of the bracket would be enough to make him the #1 HW in the world. Beating Barnett or Kharitanov would be especially impressive. Also, he is 30, but he does not seem to be losing any speed or reaction time with age, so I see plenty more years of fighting in front of him.
Who was missing? Hari? Arlovski? Granted - Mo stuck out like a sore thumb...but Spong, Saki, Ghita, Fujimoto, Aerts, Schilt and Reem - what more do you want? It isn't his fault Semmy couldn't get through to the Finals to meet him in the superfight everyone wanted. In a GP you just have to beat everyone you draw. He did that in a group of eight where 7 of the fighters were very good and each given a fair shake to win it all (with the two star-crossed would-be opponents obviously the betting favorites). Replace Mo with Hari, and then tell me there are 8 better kickboxers out there at heavyweight.
I assume you mean, Barnett?? Josh is a well rounded tough dude who gets little credit do to his body appearance and steroid scandals. But he is truely a real good fighter. If he gets top position he generally holds it by camping out on his opponents chest and beating thier face in.

Plus of course if he faces Barnett Josh will have beaten Rogers and the Sergei/AA winner, surely that would be the proof he's still at his old level people have been looking for?
Yep, sorry for getting the name wrong. Barnett has been destroyed by CroCop already, and I doubt he has improved much since then. I have never seen him as being in Fedor's class either.
Will he have achieved greateness? Sure. But do the American public on the whole know who the hell he is? Probably not. Shame, cus they know who Kimbo Slice, Brock Lesnar and many others are.
