WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO are the titles. I understand that fact that Barrera was the man, but not the champ. He is a four division champ period. Leave it alone, he is cool with it. When he beats Hatton, then he will be a five division champ. Where did this linear stuff come from, Kellerman and the media?

    5

Pacquiao didnt get a trinket at 126 because Barrera didnt want to pay sanctioning fees for his title, and and Pacman got robbed in his fight with JMM

ever since pac became #1 p4p with pbf's retirement, it seems that he has gained a lot more haters. obviously jmm fans. but now we also have calzaghe fans hating on him and probably cotto and pbf fans as well.

i guess pharaoh is right when he said that a fighter will always have detractors especially when he is the "top gun" of the sport. they all want to see him fail and lose his position.

He is credited with 4, yet his fans will credit him with 5, yet when I bring up conditions of past fighters in comparisons, they pay no mind to my arguments regarding the lesser amount of weight divisions, one title per division, etc. Figures.

The major difference though is that Pac defeated a guy who was universally considered the man at that particular weight. Where as you are merely assuming these guys would win against whatever champions were at these weights, if they were there.

I understand the point you are making though, and agree that number of titles in divisions isn't a measure of greatness. Otherwise ODLH would be the No.1 ATG.

4 unless we're counting Lineal titles, then 5.

Ring mag titles, on the other hand, don't count for ****.

5..that lineal title against MAB was his biggest and career defining win. How can it be not credited? And that was against a prime MAB.

For all people who discredit the lineal/ring win over MAB, then i think you should do the same to joe calzaghe. And pac's lineal win was better because it was from a prime MAB

Personally I don't recognise the WBO as don't the Ring & HOF. The concept of lineal champs is flawed as well. I think in this instance Manny probably should be credited as being a 5 weight world champ but at the same time Marco could have helped by paying the sanctioning fee.

ok, thats your opinion. I cannot argue with that anymore.

Pacman is still a 5 time champ for me and the majority of baxing afficionados.

Lets just enjoy the pacman show while it last. :good

The man that beat the man (lineal) has being recognised as the most important championship since the beggining of boxing.

Most didnt consider Mike Tyson the real champ even though he had all 3 belts. Most didn't consider Frazier the champ till he beat Ali

Hamed beat every single belt holder, lost to Barrera who lost to Pacman. If that isn't 126lb champ I don't know what the hell is
