the difference is someone can be great in one division but face serious limitations in others. I think Hoya was a better welterweight than Trinidad but Trinidad was better at higher divisions than Hoya. I think Pac could definately take over 135 but be stopped within one or two fights at welterweight. At 135 he did good against Diaz but that's all we know for sure. What we should really be talking about is Pac at 130 in which he was amazing. Yes, better than Hoya at 154.

right now, pac is definitely the better fighter. he's #1 p4p and has won his biggest fights against elite competition. if there was no size difference, there is no question that pac would definitely win this fight.

the only reason why oscar is fighting pac is that pac is much smaller. if pac were a natural welter, dlh would've avoided him just like he avoids margarito and cotto.

Fighter...YES! there are few who embody the term "FIGHTER" better than PAC.

Boxer??? NO:-(! DLH has always been a really polished boxer with outstanding skills. PAC is getting better and more polished every fight but not on the level of DLH or JMM. HOWEVER, That doesn't mean he (PAC) can't beat better or more polished boxers.

THat's hard to say b/c we are dealing with two men from two different era's...DLH is on his way out...prime for prime I'd say DLH is the better overall boxer/fighter but PAC is still in his prime and has a few yrs left to make more of an impact on his legacy.

On this day Pac is clearly better. All you have to do is check the recent resume and preformances.

However I accidently voted for DLH b/c I wasn't clear on what you were talking about. Boxer vs Fighter and if they were being compared in their prime or present.

You can still be a boxer and classified more or less like a fighter...fighters/boxers that are lessed polished, more rugid, rough and not as skilled are more of fighters than boxers. Guys like Ricardo mayorga is considered a fighter/slugger.

Even within the rules of boxing guys like PAC or Marg are fighters...they bang first, box second. However...pac is and has been evolving in to a boxer who likes to slug it out.

    Pac P4P.

DLH isn't in his best years and if Pac were a natural 147 fighter the fight wouldn't be taking place like many other DLH fights aren't at this stage.

This is not much of a question.

Pacquiao showed he is amongst the best with his destruction of a solid if unspectacular lightweight in David Diaz. He also had those close fights with Marquez who is looking to be a force at 135 now.

Oscar at this stage is not even looking at the best at 154, and if he did he would lose.

    Serious question?

Of course Pacquiao is a better lightweight at this stage than DLH a junior middleweight.

Otherwise, there wouldn't even be a fight. It would be such a grotesque mismatch. The main reasons why Pac is given a chance is because of DLH's age/decline, and the fact that he's dropping down to a weight where he hasn't been at since 01'.

Really? I think Pac comes out scarred win or lose. I bet he loses 3 out of his next 5 fights. After fighting DLH Marquez will finally get his W over Pac which will have half the substance before fighting DLH.

well its a serious question cause in another thread people were saying that even if Pac and Oscar were from the same weight divisions, Oscar would still whip on Pac.

    Mind boggling to me.
