Anyone who can confirm whether this is a title fight or not? CNN reports that it is a title fight. Other blogsites say it is not.
Most of the sites that I've looked at have said it ISN'T a title fight, but a couple have said it is. I'll wait until an official announcement, but for the sake of history (Pacquiao and 7 divisions), I hope it is.
It's at 145 but is Cotto's title at stake? We need a confirmation of this because Pac is taking a shot at history. 7 titles in 7 divisions.
Pacquiao - 112, 122, 126, 130, 135, 140 Hearns - 147, 154, 160, 168, 175 (he also won the IBO belt at cruiserweight, but that's not one of the big 4 or the Ring)
hmm says... I'm 100% sure it will be. This content is protected Us knowing Arum and both fighters being Top Rank, I'm sure he'll make this happen without a doubt. Blue Ray, your avy got me thinking the name Spac.
If pac beats cotto even if the belt is not on the line... i won't consider him a champ anymore. Putting the belt on the line will give this fight a meaningful storyline and will help hype the fight.
The Hatton fight was technically only for the IBO belt. After his move to 147, he didn't pick up an ABC LWW title (I guess he was stripped when he took the 147 fight, don't really remember). Of course, he was Ring/Linear at 140. Boxrec is a good resource for this type of info. And I remember the IBO getting some good profile from the Pac/Hatton match.
No, at featherweight he only won the Ring belt also are you counting light welter IBO as an alpha title
