Is it just me, or did anyone else notice he had slowed down considerably in the last quarter of the Cotto fight? Cotto was ready for the taking after the 9th, but Pac didn't have the speed to close the show by then, and let's remember it was the REF who stopped Cotto in the 12th, not Pac.

Granted, he wasn't sucking in air, but I get the feeling the wars, the jumps in weight, and his age are all finally showing.

when the ref stops a guy its usually because he's about to get his ass ktfo. It was the ref who stopped Margarito, not Mosley.

anyways yea I think Pacquiao slows down around round 10 it happened in the JMM rematch and the Cotto fight a little. He's not in his 20s anymore you know and he's been in alot of wars. If you look at his first fights against Barrera, JMM, and Morales and also his fight against Larios you'll see that in those days he didn't slow down at all.

he did tire out in JMM 2.....but we can't judge that since his last 4 fights all his opponents were cooked.

Not considerably but a little bit I can see. Remember he hadn't had a fight last that long since Marquez at Super Featherweight. Cotto gave him some good shots. Plus Cotto was on his bike to survive the fight for a while. The fact that Pac slowed a bit by the end isn't an indicator of much, probably. It wasn't an easy fight even if he was totally dominating.

I dont think he slowed so much as cotto wasnt throwing anything by then so i think he may well have been picking his shots and didnt feel he had to throw as much to keep cotto off

Cotto was backpedalling, so it was natural that Pacquiao's work-rate decreased.

Nah. His stamina is top notch. He has a bit of a crush on Cotto. You can tell Pac was kinda going easy on him and didn't want to seriously hurt him. I do believe Pac showed signs of ineptitude in cutting off the ring though. That's a weakness a slick boxer will terribly exploit.

Its not just him. I thought so too. I know it was a very rough, fight and Cotto is stronger and bigger than him so logically he should get worn out quicker, but i really saw major signs of fatigue, and at times he actually stopped, and kind of rest himself to take in oxygen (hope this makes sense)

I saw it too but will have to wait till next fight to see. He dictaced the pace of the fight IMO and after he had cotto on the back foot he could take breathers when he wanted.

you are not alone in thinking this.

I don't think he's having stamina issues. He's one of the most hardworking and dedicated athletes in the world.

yea it is a good comparison because the guy said "It was the ref who stopped Cotto, not Pac" when in fact that doesn't mean **** because refs stop fights all the time and it doesn't mean that the fighter wasn't gonna get a KO without the ref stepping in.

What you need to see in the Cotto fight is Pacquiao being more flat-footed, not more tired than usual. That's because of weight gain and knee problems which could cause problems vs Clottey because he eats people up standing in front of him.
