Pac-Mayweather trumps those fights in term of public demand by a landslide. Toney and Jones spent very little time in that ******* of a divsion they call super middle. Hopkins Jones II (in their prime) should have happened. But even that pales in comparison.
It would be the biggest fight to never happened if we were debating this 5 or 6 years from now. This fight could still happen.
To all ESBers from Los Angeles area, watch KTLA 5 News today at 10 p.m.. They will show Pac's interview. He's going to announce when he's going to fight Floyd.:good
All things consider, eg top 2 fighters of era, historical importance, event that transcends the sport, money that it will make the fighters than yes for me it is. I can think of some fights that could maybe beat it in one of those areas but not all of them.
Yes it is the biggest fight not to happen & both of the pricks should feel ashamed of themselves. End thread !
Yes, it is the biggest to not happen (at this stage). Manny and Floyd are P4P #1 and #2 of the last 24 years (sorry Roy). I don't think there was ever a time in boxing history when the #1 and #2 could easily face each other because they were in the same division, yet they didn't. Though I feel sometimes that their fame is exaggerated. Manny sure is Jesus in the Philippines, but since when do we care about the Philippines? Neither man is known to the general public in Europe, not that it matters. Neither man has yet achieved the fame of Ali or Tyson. Speaking of Tyson - the biggest fight that never happened could have been Tyson-Holyfield in 1990. A man by the name of James "Buster" Douglas interfered. Some say the fight eventually happened in 1996, some say that was a different fight. Then again, Evander Holyfield was nowhere near as big as either Manny or Floyd in 1990. So yes, Manny-Floyd, if they can't make it happen, it will be the biggest fight never made.
