Manny Pacquiao is an 8 division world champion. Pernell is a 4 division world champion. Pacquiao is twice as good as Whitaker!!!:happy:happy:happy

    GO MANNY GO!!!!

That doesn't answer the question as to why Whitaker, who had one fight at 154 for a title, didn't fight the best jr middle of his time. That would make him a 3 time world champ using your logic
*actually only a 2 division world champ, since he also only had one fight for a belt at 140 and never defended it

Well Manny fought a guy who didn't even hold a 154 title....EVER...for his 154 title. So now I'm saying, if we wanna call Manny a 154 titlist, he should fight someone who's at least held a 154 title. Who better than Martinez? His last fight at 154 was 2 years ago, and first fight at 160 was 1.5 years ago (and he made the weight on 2 weeks notice, up until then he still thought he was gonna stay a 154lber), so I think he can make 154 just fine for the money. No ones asking Manny to go up to 160, not I, but fight a guy who was actually a 154 champ for a 154 title, if you wanna be called 154 champ? Is that too much to ask dear little Manny?

Martinez's last 4 fights have been at middleweight. He can't get down to 154 or he would've done so against Dzinziruk. Pac vacated his belt anyway. He doesn't want to fight above welter after the punishment he took against Margo at 150. He picked up that belt as all these legends picked them up in the past just to claim another divisional belt. You know Hearns, Duran, Leonard, Roy Jones, along with Whitaker also all won belts at higher weights without defending them? He is not a jr middleweight

I think he would make it for the wieght. I mean, he called Pac out after Dzinziruk, do you think he expects Pac to meet him at 160? He knows he's gonna have to lose weight. I'm only saying, Pac should meet him at 154. If he does and he wins, he's as great as you say he is. If he loses, he dared to be great, he's still an ATG. But what is getting me all riled up is how vehemently the pac fans are against Pac and Martinez meeting up at 154, its like an army of them denouncing it. These are the same guys who like to point out what a giant slayer Manny is. These are also the same guys who accuse Floyd of not taking risks (double standards much?). We all know that Margo coming off a KO and a shitty performance against some unknown in Mexico was not much of a threat to the boxer of the decade, his only chance was his size. Shane Mosley just got shut out by Floyd and a draw to a guy with 6KOs and who's claim to fame is a reality TV show, and now he's Manny opponent. I wont **** on the Hatton and Cotto wins, but Manny's opposition hasn't been stellar recently, so fighting a top dog who's bigger is a real threat, why not? Why vehemently oppose it? That's all I came to say. For the record, I think Manny has a good shot, he's that good.

As a Pac fan I'd love to see Martinez-Pac too. It's just not realistic to expect it. The Most Pac has weighed for a fight was almost 146, and he said he felt it hindered his speed and he didn't feel his best against Clottey. For him to be at his best he'd have to come in 9-10lbs less than Martinez if it was at 154, and in the fight he'd be at 148/49lb against a likely 170lb Martinez. If he puts on more weight he'll likely be bloated and slow, as we saw Marquez against Mayweather. If it's at 150-152 Martinez would be drained. You can't get a fair fight with these guys. It's a fight destined never to happen.

i think he meant trouble absorbing margarito's power...cause he was pissing blood after the fight. Pac had no business at 154...it was only for the belt...i dont think he'd ever go back there considering what damage it caused his body.

Fight is unrealistic, way too risky and Martinez doesn't have enough popularity to offset it.
